Horsforth Japanese Gardens — Attraction in Leeds

A haven of tranquility. Very easy to find on google maps. A miniature japanese garden so many beautiful flowering shrubs & acers. A place of beauty & harmony. Great to spend time on your own or visit as family. There is a small free car park & the gardens are free entry which makes it worthwhile & lovely to visit. The blossom trees are in full bloom & give the gardens a glorious presence. There is birdsong everywhere & a small lake with lilly pads which attracts wildlife. The azelea bushes once in full flower will add so much color. A pleasure to visit & while away the afternoon & enjoy peaceful...

The gardens are still open but not as pretty or as well cared for as they used to be. Part of Horsforth Hall park so a lovely area to walk around. There's a nice children's playground and a bandstand that has summer band performances. There's 2 (currently) free car parks and street parking spaces too. Plenty of spaces for a picnic and some picnic tables and seating is available plus lots of benches along the paths. It's dog friendly but be aware there's sometimes unruly, off lead dogs...

Needs some tlc. The pond is muddy. The plants are old and tired the waterfall needs gusto and cleaning. Dogs should not be allowed one jumped and scared my young son. On a side note can we please get some more sand in the kids play area! And what is it with that smaller kids slide it's got gaps on all sides for toddlers to fall though it's the worst designed toddlers play equipment I have seen and I always get comments from other worried parents saying the same when I am...
