I have no idea where the good reviews of this place come from but me and my husband had a terrible experience. Once we were sat down it took them 15 mins to take drinks order and then they got my husband's drink wrong. The waitresses had no clue what they were doing and looked confused which is very unprofessional. The owner which I believe actually took the drink order and the waitress brought a completely different drink. Then let's go to the food which was shocking to me. We ordered hummus with pita and guess what they brought? Already bought in hummus from local Lidl I know this because I used to eat this hummus exactly the same and they topped it off with chilli flakes to make it homemade! Then to the main it was lamb tagine which tasted like they boiled a supermarket meat with some onion no taste or flavour at all for around £23 which way expensive for such tasteless meal. The service was bad and slow, we had to ask the confused waitress twice to get plates for the main and she kept bringing a plate for appetizer. They were not even busy at all but service was so slow. Honestly save your money and go elsewhere as this is the worst place I've ever been to in Leeds. To the owner, please train your staff properly and try to make meals from the kitchen not bought stuff from Lidl. People are paying their hard earned money to get a decent meal, stop...

We arrived early and were seated straight away and the staff had the menus ready and drinks at the table in mere minutes. Honestly, it was that quick!
We had a mix of tapas/starters and a main and each dish was a culinary delight. Seriously, I couldn’t fault a single part of the food. It was what you hope for from Michelin restaurants: homey atmosphere, good food and staff who are there at the drop of a hat. I wish I’d taken pictures of each dish because they were presented beautifully and you could tell the chef had put a lot of effort into getting it just right and the flavours, my god the flavours, they were mind blowing.
I personally recommend the Steak Diane because that was truly melt in the mouth gorgeous and the peppercorn sauce was divine. I haven’t had peppercorn sauce that good since Hard Rock Cafe was still in Leeds which should give you a clue as to how nice it was.
If you’re looking for a restaurant that can cater to a variety of tastes, makes sure everything is as you like it and are friendly and cheerful to boot, I can’t recommend Moreno’s highly enough.
10/10 will be back again and will be telling all my friends and family about it because this is truly...
Read moreWe are fans of North African cuisine - the food was OK but nothing to write home about.
The service was not good. We like to take our time with a meal - order slowly if we want, and enjoy our conversation. The waiter (who said he was the owner) got distinctly annoyed with us when we hadn't chosen our food order within five minutes of arriving. "Order in two minutes please!" he barked. Also he was dressed as though he'd come in from an afternoon of gardening! Going out to eat isn't just about food, it's about taking the time to enjoy an evening in good company. Good service is about encouraging that atmosphere. Strangely, once we'd ordered, he wasn't attentive. We had to get out of our seats to ask for another drink, and also at the end of the meal to find him so we could pay our bill.
The restaurant was pretty much empty on a Friday night. Not much of an ambience, and the Aerosmith playing quite loudly didn't help either. It's hard to know why he was hurrying us - maybe he just wanted to close early on a...
