I was absolutely appalled after visiting Nandos Headingley today. Firstly, I ordered through the QR code which I was advised to do in which £30 came out my account but no order was confirmed. After mentioning it to a member of staff who was seemingly unbothered he told me to try and order again as it ‘happens all the time’. I then ordered again in which another £30 came out of my account and I saw the same order failed screen. In this case £60 had come out of my account. I then went over to the till and was met by an unpleasant blonde girl who again seemingly did not care and had no interest in the fact that I was £60 down with no food at all? She said again this happens all the time but surely if anyone had any sense they would recommend ordering at the till? Baffling. She then brought over a manager who said he couldn’t find the order and the money would bounce back in between an hour to 3 days and I should order again. Why on earth would I spend £90 attempting to buy a Nandos? I actually cannot with these people😭. I never received a single apology from any of those waiters or the ‘manager’ and nobody was seemingly helpful. By this point my friend was half way through finishing her food in which I sat and watched. The audacity of the man behind the till to ask how our imaginary food was is absolutely insane. Not a single apology or any way to solve the issue came around. How on earth is that customer service? I understand Nandos is a chain but that situation is genuinely laughable. I’m still £60’s down but luckily was met by amazing service and an unreal dinner over at Residence. Read moreI have always been under the impression that Nandos was just over-priced fast food but we decided to order a takeaway last night as my children love it. I placed a click-and-collect order but when I arrived to collect, there had been an IT problem and although the order was showing on their Ipad, it hadn't been transferred to the kitchen. I was therefore told there would be 15 minute wait which I said would be fine. After about 10 minutes, the lady on the counter came and apologised again and offered me some free desserts which I thought was a nice gesture. Despite being very busy which numerous customers arriving, she was continually chasing my order and telling the kitchen that it was a priority. After I had been waiting for 25 minutes, she came and apologised again and said told me that she felt it was an unreasonable length of time for me to wait so she issued a full refund for my order. My order was then ready a couple of minutes later. I do not often leave reviews but I felt that this was such excellent customer service that I should say something. I never complained about the wait at all so to be issued with a refund I find excellent. As it turned out, I quite enjoyed the food too and so I will definitely be returning. Read moreI met a friend for a late lunch / early dinner and decided to visit the local Nando's. I was early and didn't want to sit down so waited in the foyer / entrance.
Eventually my friend arrived and we ordered our food. I got the chicken livers with Prego roll (ie bread roll) and also the 4 boneless thighs with two sides of Peri-Peri chips and the new long stem broccoli. My friend ordered the butterfly chicken and requested it came well done.
The staff were really attentive and knowledgeable about certain dishes. One of them was doing a nutrition degree and even provided the health benefits of broccoli. Plus a very compelling pitch to the benefits of the cloudy lemonade (I was sold, bought two glasses)!
The food came through at the same time, after a conversation with the staff who mentioned that my chicken livers would take longer to cook.
My only criticism is that the Prego roll was missing a sachet of butter, and both chicken dishes were cooked "well done". I mentioned this to one of the waitresses who provided an alternative without question.
