Sociable Folk — Restaurant in Leeds

Sociable Folk definitely not very sociable.

I’ve eaten here a few times pre-lockdown and I did like it BUT never again!

A 16 year old student I know came here for an interview. She was very nervous and spent hours preparing. Including a pre-visit to make sure she knew exactly where it was. The interview was 5 mins long and they told her they would be in touch for her to do a trial shift. They didn’t. A quick text, phone call or email to tell her she was unsuccessful would have been nice, instead of raising her hopes like that.

If that’s how they treat young people, I definitely won’t be back. And neither will she, or her family and friends.

Edit: in response to the reply; the manager wasn’t available to interview her, so someone else did. There was no ‘if’ about it. It was a definite ‘we’ll be in touch for a trial (paid) shift. And in response to ‘unfairness’, how people are treated is a good measure of a business overall. It’s not...

I hosted my 30th birthday party at Sociable Folk and it was fantastic!! I was able to have exclusive use of the venue on a Saturday night. The host Stacey was brilliant both before the event (stayed in regular contact), and during the event, to make sure everything was just how I wanted it. The buffet was absolutely delicious and all my party guests (40+ people) were highly complimentary saying it was the best party buffet they'd had! I was able to play my own music through the sound system which saved me a lot of money on hiring a DJ. They also sold a good range of alcohol at reasonable prices. This cafe is amazing! A great range of food items on the menu and some lovely coffees and pastries. The place itself has such a cool atmosphere it’s an amazing space to hang out no matter the company you’re keeping.

I had the full English breakfast with oat mocha, the whole lot was top quality! The staff were friendly and welcoming, service was fast and efficient despite it being busy.

There is Wi-Fi available with the password provided around the cafe, plenty of outdoor seating should the weather allow.

If you’re in the area you’d be mad not to give this place a try! How Nero’s can stand the heat coming from this place I have no idea?
