My friend’s drink came with a moldy raspberry. They seemed to only replace the raspberry but send the same glass of drink back.

We ordered cocktails but they were weak and only had a tiny taste of alcohol.

The staff were rude as well. I’m sorry it’s on us that my friend didn’t arrive on time so they called me and asked are we going. I said not sure, maybe later, but then the staff called me keep asking ‘coming yes or no?’ I said sorry then I’ll cancel it for now.

Later on we arrived and most tables were empty so we just asked can we have a seat and they said yes. After we sit down my friend mentioned that we booked a table earlier but sorry didn’t come, few minutes later after the drinks were served the staff called me came to our table and questioned us like ‘who’s Winnie? Why did you come when you cancelled?’ My friend said sorry it’s them being late. I’m just wondering though why we can’t come when you have many empty tables anyway? If you’re full we’ll find somewhere else but you’re not and now I know why you’re not because you’re bad at treating your customers

They also came every 10 or fifteen minutes to ask do we want to order food or anything else when we still got most our drinks, also when we said we need a few minutes to decide what we want they just wait at the table. They don’t accept cash is reasonable but they weren’t willing to help us to spilt the bill either. ‘Sorry you’ll need to figure out how to pay yourselves’

A lot of pressures to be there as a customer and I wouldn’t...

The food and drink were great.

I had the Tagliatelle al Fungi and it was better than the Tagliatelle I had in Rome last year.

My partner had a gluten free pizza and it was the best gluten free pizza she's ever had. The pizza base had a "bite" to it unlike the cardboard bases she has had elsewhere.

The only reason I have left a poor review is because they don't accept cash.

Cash is still legal tender and I should have been able to use it to pay for my meal.

We left with a feeling of satisfaction from the food and drink but not being able to use cash has left a bad taste.

It's all we talked about for 10 minutes after we left, mainly due to the fact that not once were we informed that they were card only.

We were only informed AFTER the bill arrived and I tried to pay with cash.

Good experience until the end.

Thanks for replying Nino. I've updated my review. The previous rating I gave felt a bit harsh given the quality of the food, drink and service.

I was just a bit annoyed in the moment as I like to pay cash...

Excellent last minute choice on a Tuesday for dinner in Leeds, Callum, Kieran (front of house) and Balaz (kitchen) gave us excellent service and really lovely food.

We’ve had the Sicilian tasting experience at Veeno before and loved it (and at thee old Leeds location years ago we had a sharing board and wine!) but thought we’d try something more substantial for dinner. The pizzas were really something - as a waitress of a decade in various local owned (and large chain…) Italian restaurants who is also partial to a pizza, I’ve eaten a pizza or two in my time and from the dough to the fresh pizza sauce to the excellent but simple use of toppings - it was truly something special from the first bite. (Being extremely honest….I’m pretty sure I ate more than my own half of the two we shared because I was enjoying myself so much….) Would be back again and a lovely touch was the wine offer at £3.50 a glass mid-week - we...

We did 'a taste of sicily' which was supposed to 5 wines paired to a dish. Wine tasting was nice, as it was a special occasion for a friends 40th we wanted to do something different, 2 whites, 1 Rose and 2 reds. wine was lovely! However we didn't feel it was good value for money as we got a platter of charcuterie meats and cheeses and 70ml of each wine per person for £35pp, and not a dish as the menu suggested. you could have a 3course meal and 3 wines for £25pp at the same place so not sure why this was more expensive for a few chunks of cheese/slices of meat. If you want some wine and cheese/meat, go for that on the menu and spend half the price. We mentioned it to the waitress who wasn't really that bothered, didn't apologise for the way we felt or even try to make it up to us, it was pretty much nevermind!

We were given a gift for a wine and food pairing experience. It was excellent from start to finish. We were greeted by Ryan with a big welcoming smile, shown to our table and was given the option of having a drink first or starting our experience, we opted for a drink as the cocktails were buy 1 get 1 free. 2 long island teas for £8.50 can't go wrong. Ryan brought the food and 4 glasses of wines each and explained that the wines were exclusive to Veenos from their own vineyard in Sicily, she told us all about each wine in detail and which food complimented each wine. She was extremely knowledgeable and so passionate about both the food and wine. The food and wines were to the highest standard. We can highly recommend Veenos for food, wine and service and we will definitely be back.
