One of a small regional chain of Thai restaurant offers in Yorkshire. This branch has a semi-visible kitchen behind etched glass so the odd flare of gas flame can be seen from the dining area. Furnished with similar items of Thai culture and heritage as other branches, the menu is identical, with staples such as Pad Thai, green and red curry along with more obscure items and specialities. We sampled a traditional staple and speciality fish dish, both were great, but served with a very bland and uninteresting vegetable side we could have done without. Service was - of course - courteous and charming.

Have visited Sukohotai a few times before. There was a mixup with the booking so nearly didn't get a table, after a wait a table was sorted. The service staff brought some prawn crackers which were complimentary, but did end up appearing on the bill. Presentation of dishes is very good, the Thai red curry was nice, and a good level of spice. Did wonder afterwards if I should have had the massaman curry instead. All the waiting staff were friendly and polite.

We love this place. We've been going for over 20 years and it never disappoints. The prices have gone so expensive now that it has become a place for special occasions only. We used to go to the Sunday buffet almost every week but that's no longer on unfortunately 😫 we find the Chapel Allerton one is always the best atmosphere and our long standing Pat is usually working here too so have to say hello to her 🥰

First time and last time ended up leaving without eating our main course.

We ordered 3 starters which arrived at the table in 2 minutes flat , obviously already pre prepared ready to go , you would think they would at least leave it 10 minutes to give the impression it had been cooked to order ... starters were average , all served with piles of iceberg lettuce which looked a touch amateur but in particular the tiger prawns with satay was disappointing.

Ordered a second round of drinks at the table which eventually arrived after 2 reminders and 25 minutes !! really poor service.

When the mains arrived they brought one out first and said the other was on its way , there was only 2 of us !! , Surely it is not too much to expect for them to arrive at the same time ?

The other main arrived approx 5 minutes later , not really acceptable service is it ?

In the meantime we both sampled the first main , sea bass green curry , whilst failry tasty it was luke warm at best verging on being cold and by the time the other main arrived it was not something to accept.

upon arriving with the second main course we informed the waiting staff that the green curry was pretty cold even when it first arrived but after having waited a further 5 minutes it now needed re doing.

They were happy to sort this and we requested they take all the food back and re serve the main courses at the same time together when the chef was satisfied they were all indeed hot . Not an unreasonable expectation ..

Ten minutes later the mains were back , green curry was nuclear , clearly just been microwaved , but that's fine , The weeping tiger however I think had just been sat on the side for the interim ten minutes , the ritual sauce pouring on to the hot skillet didn't even produce a bubble !! never mind any of the expected intense sizzling and steaming !!.

The one piece of steak I ate was raw in the middle and pretty cold. The skillet was only warm ish , so much so I could hold my finger on the side of it for as long I as wanted and it had only being on the table 40 seconds !! .

i informed the lady who had just done the pointless pouring of the sauce that the dish was no where near as hot as it should be and demonstrated the fact by again placing my finger directly on the skillet ... her response was " well i think you need to choose something else from the menu " ..

What ?? , let me get this right , the steak is cold , more importantly the expected searing skillet which should of warmed and cooked it further is also cold enough to touch easily , but your satisfied its ok and that i need to select another dish ??

very very poor level of service , the head chef should take to the responsibility especially after considering the food was sent back first time round for being cold with the dishes leaving the pass 6-7 minutes apart originally .

We eat out every week , often 2 / 3 times a week and are approaching our fourty's , this is only the second time ever we have felt the need to walk out of a restaurant which we duly did.

Ten minutes later we were seated down in Chaophraya ( by a mile the best Thai restaurant in Leeds ) having the most perfect main courses and weeping tiger dish you could hope for ...

We only tried Sukhotai for a change , big mistake , even if the food had of being acceptable it is still a long way down on the Experience , professionalism , quality and ambience which is offered by Chaophraya , Needless to say we wont be...

Well what can I say, arrived 19.30 for our table booked a few days prior! Oh sorry no table booked? We couldn't say your name!! An other would have done to secure the table? Ok we were shown a table but felt out of place, others were shown there tables complete with menus? We had at length had to request menus which duly arrived, we placed our order for starters, mains and sides, had the starters after about 15 mins, very nice, not disappointed, things going well! Ok finished starters awaiting mains 1.5 hours later we had to ask were they were? Other people arrived later shown tables complete with menus and served before us??? Three meals arrived hot and great, mine alas arrived almost cold but having said that was tasty, ( ok your saying why not send it back! I didnt cos I waited 1.5 hours for it, I thought how much longer before I got the replacement! ) We had a round of free drinks for our trouble not brillient but at least a token! Deserts ordered and still waiting 15 mins later, tea arrived for one well before the Irish coffees arrived! And before the deserts, while I open this were still waiting for deserts and special coffees? Ambience good, service when they came ok, chat to although some language barriers had difficulty! Coffees came well before our still waiting desserts! Ok finished for now, and still waiting...

Nice restaurant and very welcoming staff. Extremely loud and very cramped when busy. The restaurant has limited on street parking options. The food was nice but DO NOT order soup. Holy cow is this BAD. It is boiled water with a hint of salt and some bits of vegetables and tofu or something tasteless in it. It costs over £6 and is a tiny portion size. Firstly, this not soup - it's barely edible! Secondly, soup has a thick gravy like consistency - this was dishwater lightly salted with some vegetables - some of which tasted absolutly horrible. WTH - seriously. It tasted awful. It was absolutly horrendous! It took all evening to try and forget how bad the soup was. Never had something quite so gross. The rest of the food was better and enjoyable to eat but portion sizes are quite small and should be bigger. The staff are a complete asset to this restaurant - they are lovely. For example the employee refilling cups of water without a customer even having to ask and then cleaning tables for example was great. The staff are polite and very respectful. Keep it up! I won't be returning but have provided constrictive feedback that could help improve the customer experience. Just take the soup off the menu, I should have asked for a refund for that - it...
