Had pre-booked a table for 6 (4 of 6 people in the group are larger than average size, 3 are big and 1 very tall). Upon arrival the table they gave our group was a ridiculously tight squeeze, as in was snug even for a petite person! (I am the petite person in the group, so not just an overweight person claiming that spaces should be bigger to accommodate me).
Didn't knock a star off because of the table size, I understand they couldn't have been aware before our arrival that half our group literaly wouldn't fit in it. Saying that, I don't think a person of larger stature should have to go through the humiliation of pre-announcing they are big prior to arrival at any venue unless they are extremely out of average categories... (This table was a fault of design).
Lost another star due to the lack of professional or even empathetic reaction from the door greeter in dealing with the situation. She stood there for upto 5 minutes watching as our group failed to squeeze in (in front of a packed onlooking restaurant). Never acted upon this at any point, until we demanded a different table! ...We eventually got a spacious table upstairs, so confirming they did have an appropriate table available in the first place.
Lost another star due to having ordered the Bruscheta for my starter, with no comment or warning from the server that there would be any problems with this. The dish then arrived sans balsamic vinaigrette sauce or smoked basil, so the bread was VERY dry an the dish generally quite bland. I had to call a server over to point this out and was met with the reaction of no apology, was just told they had run out of those ingredients and so served it without them regardless without mentioning it - as if this was even remotely acceptable behaviour for a restaurant!
Lost another star as I ordered the classic American burger for main and the whole dish was dry, meat tasted cheap and entire thing was bland (like almost inedibly bland). Just not the standard I expect and pay extra for at TGI Fridays. Also they forgot most of the extras requested and had to be reminded of this multiple times.
Otherwise, service was not bad and they found a replacement sauce for my bruscheta, it didn't work as well with the dish, but at least made it edible. Still mostly appalled at the attitude around the whole thing as there was no apology and charged full price for it anyway. Emailed TGI Fridays an recieved no response, just rubbing more salt into the wound (salt being the only flavouring to the point of excess). WOULD NOT RECOMMEND...
Read moreVery very very poor service and cold food! Waited around 20 minutes for someone to take our order, starters ok. Main course very very poor. Both mine and my other halfs food was cold and you could tell the food had been stood waiting as the cheese on the burger had congealed and the chicken was burnt. Ribs were stone cold, the only thing that was hot were the fries. Staff never returned to ask how the food was and when we asked for the bill, not one member of staff came with a card machine for us to pay even though the bill and my card were sat there on show for at least 25 minutes. What made things worse was the girl in our area served everyone else other than us, ie taking payments and giving out bills to everyone even walking past our table noticing my card but still doing nothing. Eventually i told my other half to get up and leave without paying but when i got to the door i changed my mind and said to the girl at the till, 'can i pay for my meal as nobody else seems to want my money', again i waited another 2 minutes for her to find someone else to take payment. Again, no questions from the staff asking if we had enjoyed our food or anything. We left but i later turned round and returned to complain to a manager. He was very apologetic and offered vouchers but declined as i said i would never return here. I eventually settled for a discount on 1 meal, in which i mentioned you are very lucky you recieved anything as i almost walked out without paying anything. Kind of wished i had. Very poor place, i would not recommend to anyone and the food sucks. Save your money and go to Five Guys instead,...
Read moreCalled in today after shopping as we regularly do and was shown to our seats, no one came to take a drink order and we waited far too long for someone to come and take our food order. When our food came out half of the order was clap cold as we expected as we sat looking at half our order sat on the side for 20 minutes as they got the rest of the food ready. To be fair the server took the cold food away and brought out fresh but the rest of our group had already finished eating by the time it came back out. The plate my food was served on absolutely stunk (foisty smell) and put me off the food. The service was just non existent, we had to call staff over to take drink orders and had to go find the condiments ourselves which wouldn't be a problem if we knew the staff were busy but the restaurant was very quite. Used to go quite regularly and used to really enjoy it but after this experience we won't be returning. Price increases, poor non existent service, poor quality of food and hygiene! Wouldn't normally leave a bad review as every business can have an off day but today really was bad enough to put us (regulator customers) off from...
