The Three Swords - Horsforth — Restaurant in Leeds

My partner and I went here today to have lunch with some friends. Anywhere that is dog friendly gets bonus points so that's a good start. The service was okay - not great, but not bad. The food was tasty, but there wasn't a huge amount to choose from. I got a paneer butter masala and it was very nice. My partner ordered the food (you order that the bar) and I was shocked when she told me the curry (£13) didn't even come with rice. There was only one type of rice to order on the side (the jeera rice) and that was £4. That's £17 for a curry and rice. Jesus. Bare in mind the portion sizes were tiny as well. The place is a nice enough if you want to bob in for a drink with some friends and you happen to get a bit peckish and want a snack. However, if you're wanting somewhere to go for an actual meal, I wouldn't recommend this place. We all left still feeling hungry and the prices are ridiculous for the portion sizes. We had a table booked yesterday evening for 11 people at 7pm. We arrived and ordered drinks etc. At 8:15pm, our group began ordering food. My husband went up to the bar with our 6 week old son to order our food, no problem. At around 8:30pm, when not all of our group's food had arrived, we were told that we could not stay in past 9pm with our son. Now, this would have been fine if we were made aware immediately, but the fact that we were told half an hour before, after we'd ordered food, is absolutely appalling. I went to feed my son outside, as I didn't feel particularly comfortable after that, and at exactly 9pm, a member of staff came over to the group because the pram was still there and told them again that no babies were allowed. Our first visit and unfortunately it was disappointing. The service was poor - both from waiting on staff to bar staff with no offer of guidance on the menu. At the bar I was told the drinks menu is not necessarily what they have available and to look at the pumps and fridges when I attempted to request a drink from their beer menu. Several requests for a jug of water were made when we then had to ask another member of staff before as we were finishing our meal it arrived. The advice -we requested - on food was mediocre and did not enhance our choices. Food is overpriced and portions are small for the cost of them.
