I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the level of service we experienced during our recent visit to your establishment for a carvery. Unfortunately, our overall impression was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to bring these matters to your attention.
Firstly, the extended wait time for the carvery was utterly unacceptable, especially considering that there was no one else waiting to be served. The unnecessary delay caused significant inconvenience and left us feeling frustrated. We believe that efficient service should be a fundamental aspect of any establishment, and this aspect clearly fell short during our visit.
Furthermore, we were dismayed by the behavior of the chef who, on several occasions, emerged from the kitchen and handled items without acknowledging our presence. This lack of basic courtesy left us feeling undervalued as customers. It is important for staff members to recognize the importance of maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere, even during busy periods.
Lastly, we found the quality of food available for selection to be rather inadequate. The dishes appeared to have been cooked from frozen, resulting in a bland and unappetizing taste. Additionally, the food was served lukewarm, failing to meet basic culinary expectations. As customers, we believe that the freshness and quality of the food served should be of paramount importance to maintain a positive dining experience.
It is disheartening to share these concerns, as we had hoped for a pleasant visit to your establishment. However, based on our recent experience, we believe it is vital for you to be aware of the issues we encountered. As loyal customers, we sincerely hope that you take our feedback into consideration and take measures to rectify these shortcomings.
We kindly request that you address our concerns promptly and provide us with any necessary feedback or solutions to ensure that we can continue to enjoy the quality service and culinary standards that we have come to expect from your establishment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We eagerly await a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe family and I, including 2 four year olds, visited this restaurant on Friday evening ar about 7.20pm. We were greeted and asked if we would sit in the bar area. I said no, as I had my children with me. My Mum asked the greeter, we assumed was the manager, if the restaurant area was that busy. She replied by saying "no", but they shutting everything down as they were closing at 8pm!! We were astonished as the website clearly states that they close at 10pm!! So, we were seated, very reluctantly, in the restaurant area and we proceeded to get our food. By the time I came back to the table, I couldnt get to my seat, as my disabled father and another guest were blocking my way. We were crammed like sardines which was ridiculous as the restaurant was practically empty!! We enjoyed our food but it then took an age to have our plates taken away. We ended up, flagging a waiter who obliging cleared away for us. We then asked for 2 deserts (ice cream with strawberry sauce, a flake and a wafer) for my children. This was about 8pm. We waited very patiently for about 10 minutes. My children were getting very restless by this point. My mum eventually went to find a server. She found the manager. My mum asked where the desserts were. The manager shouted at my mum, saying he was going to get them now. Not very professional, infact downright rude!! My mum did point out that if they weren't so busy tidying up, they could concentrate on the customers!! We waited another 10 minutes and flagged the same waitee down and asked for our desserts, please!! They eventually arrived. Mr Whippy style ice cream!!!!! How it took over 20 minutes to prepare is beyond me!! What was supposed to be a celebration meal, turned out to be a nightmare and we will definitely NOT be returning. We are told not to be abusive and rude to staff but it appears that staff can talk to customers how they like and that's ok!!!!!! I would steer well clear of this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWouldn't normally EVER review a Toby carvery as a 1 star but my experience tonight was just ridiculous, never had a visit like it and we've been a fair few times! Arrived at 7.30pm to be told there was 'no tables all night' my partner even said 'nothing at all' as we were willing to wait, to which she responded 'no nothing sorry' so we walked out, I then went to look online and found I could book a table for 8.40pm, granted it's a bit of a wait but I'd wanted this carvery for monthsss! So we walked back in, I told her I'd booked a table and we'd be in the bar waiting having a drink. We got a drink, my partner got a Carling which was flat but he didn't want me to go change it as the lady behind the bar seemed to have an attitude.. 5 minutes after we sat down the lady from the front desk who we assume if the manager, came and told us there was a table ready! Much to my surprise as 5 minutes prior there wasn't a table at all! Carvery wasn't great, no beef, not much of a vegetable selection and after the whole situation with getting an actual table in the place the mood was just flat. Won't be returning which is a shame as the Horsforth branch was our favourite. In and out by 8.15pm! Luckily I looked through my emails and found a 50% off voucher otherwise I wouldn't have paid. And the best part was as we were paying we could see our table had been put down as a 'walk in' after being told we couldn't walk in. Rest of the staff were great, manager needs to work on her customer...
