We came for Sunday Roast having read the good reviews, All can say is obviously some people are easily pleased. Our dinner arrived it looked okay at first glance. Until we tried it the little veg we got was cold the gravy was cold, we called the waitress she took it back to the kitchen ten mins later it arrived back absolutely swimming in warm gravy. Needless to say the food under the gravy was just being warmed by the actual gravy I attempted to cut into a roast potatoe but couldnt cut any of the three I got. Due to them being dehydrated I hate half of Yorkshire pudding and called it a day, My partner managed to eat a bit more than me, He said just shows you can't always go off reviews. When the waitress came to take our plates it was obvious with the amount of food that was left there was something wrong and to be fair to the waitress She asked was there a problem so we explained. She apologised and said I will take 50% of the bill which made us feel a bit better at 15.95 each I didn't feel has hard done by I certainly would not recommend having a roast here it's over priced for the tiny bit of veg you get there is nothing worse than a cold...
Read moreMy first time visiting The Turk's Head and what an establishment this is 1 of the 2 oldest public house's (a.k.a pub's) in leeds city centre.
The staff was and are friendly, welcoming and always at hand if you need anything at all. I had an axiety attack for the first time in a long time due to it being a busy saturday whilst leeds united was playing.
The food they serve is delicious and caters for vegan's too, i had a gorgeous spiced cauliflower steak with sides to accompany my rosè wine which was a treat and half in itself.
The staff made sure i was alright as well as looked after both in house and smoking area.
Even the door supervisors also did the same and cant fault any one of them.
Truly is a go to place for anybody wether its a quite tipple, meal out with the family (dogs are welcomed) or a meeting point with the girls/lads and even if you have pre-match jitters when your football teams are playing...
Read moreA bit overrated. We came here as whitelocks was full and apparently they have the same menu.
When we first walked in and up to the bar, the girl working took a solid minute to acknowledge our presence which we found awkward.
This place is small (maybe 8 tables) and decorated more modern than whitelocks, so has none of the charm. It was full so we waited about 15 minutes for a table but were able to order a drink at the bar. There was no system for who was waiting for a table. Service was slow and it felt like she was avoiding eye contact with us.
Food was waayy too big. The pie was ridiculously huge. It could of been half the size so we would have done better to just order that and share it. I felt bad wasting half of it. The chunky chips and seasonal veg were excellent.
Overall I wouldn't recommend...
