Recently attended the Leeds Titanic VR experience with friends, and while it was a fascinating concept — exploring the Titanic in virtual reality as part of a group of five — the execution left a lot to be desired.
Unfortunately, the headsets were not properly calibrated. Each person’s blue boundary outline was off by around a metre, which meant we were constantly walking into one another. At one point, a friend and I even walked straight into a wall that clearly hadn’t been set up with proper object avoidance. Instead of being immersed in the experience, most of our time was spent trying to avoid collisions.

The attention to detail was incredible – from moving through the ship, picking up a menu, climbing ladders, and walking down the famous staircase. Even though you know you’re in a flat room, the feeling of actually going downstairs was unbelievable.
