I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zap Thai for my sister’s birthday (my family and fiancée are CRAZY for Asian cuisine) and I must say it didn’t disappoint me. We entered and were greeted with a warm and happy smile which really set the tone for a delectable meal. As for their menu it is extensive, offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to both traditional Thai food enthusiasts and d those new to the Thai food scene. As I am watching my weight I didn’t have a main, but did enjoy an exquisite starter of Chicken Satay. It was so succulent with a rich and peanut sauce to pair well with. One of the best highlights for me was the scenery. It’s leagues above most restaurants as they usually op for a flair of a basic and simple taste yet Zap Thai had fully embraced their Thai culture and offered up every part of its culture in a well done flair. Their artistic direction for their restaurant matches very well with their menu and I for one can’t wait to go back and try more of what they have to offer. I’d highly recommend this place for any type of setting, you really can’t go wrong here. It’s a beautiful gem of a place and with the combination of flavourful dishes and excellent service it makes it a true must-visit.

Zaap Thai exceeded all my expectations. The food is a culinary delight, with each dish boasting authentic, vibrant flavors that truly capture the essence of Thai cuisine. The Pad Thai and Green Curry were particular standouts, with perfectly balanced spices and fresh ingredients. The service was outstanding; the staff were attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations. They ensured that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable, attending to every detail with professionalism. The ambiance at Zaap Thai is both inviting and elegant. The tasteful decor, featuring traditional Thai elements, creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. It’s an ideal setting for both casual meals and special occasions.

This is our absolute favourite place to eat in Leeds. We love visiting for special occasion family meals as well as popping in for a quick lunch or bubble tea (we also have Zaap delivered quite regularly too - did I mention it's our favourite?!) The food is fresh, delicious and made with love. The teas are fab, especially in summer and the cocktails are insanely good. The restaurant itself has a fantastic atmosphere, the staff are all very friendly and helpful whether it's a super quiet day or absolutely rammed in there. The wait staff and chefs are always happy to accommodate requests and go out of their way to ensure you've had the best meal and service possible. The som tum makes me weep tears of joy.

This is the 1st time I have been to Sukhothai after hearing rave reviews from Good Food Guides and family too. The sticky rice was poorly presented and the Green Thai Curry was a little too watery for my liking and most of the staff seemed too busy to take our orders for drinks and the bar man in particular never smiled and was quite stone faced the whole time, I asked him if some empty glasses could be taken away and he just mumbled something and walked away which was extremely rude and spoiled my experience altogether. To sum it up I don't think I would be returning and think I'll stick to Chaopraya in which the service, presentation and attentiveness are truly faultless.

Love the atmosphere and the staff but there are just so many better thai food places in Leeds. Wanted to be more adventurous and tried the baby crab salad and gosh, really regretted it. It was slightly fishy and just didn't taste fresh at all. Mamamee was quite good but I felt like there was too much seafood (I know, usually I wouldn't complain but it just wasn't very pleasant). Braised duck was the nicest but the braising liquid was so thin and sweet, didn't really taste like braising liquid. I think you will be better off ordering their noodle dishes like pad thai or their steamed sea bass.

Called this afternoon for a quick late lunch. The drinks menu unfortunately had no volume listed for the bottles of Tiger beer. It came in a 330ml bottle for £4-10. Also ordered a diet coke. Two mains. Crispy fried chicken in red curry and a deep fried chicken in sweet and sour chili sauce, both served with rice, both were tasty. Total cost just shy of £34. Service was friendly. The place was fairly clean but I could not find a hygiene rating anywhere for this establishment.
