Zaap Thai Street Food Headingley — Restaurant in Leeds

Unfortunately our experience here ended on a poor note. We dined as a table for three booked in for 7:30pm. Service was good throughout, we had starters each (spring rolls, dumplings and fish cakes) which were all really good. Mains were mediocre, I had the tofu green curry which was okay, my partner had duck in some sort of tomato sauce, it wasn't that great (x 2 on the menu). We ordered a second round of drinks during the mains but everything from here on in was quite rushed and awkwards. A queue was forming at the door which didn't appear to be managed very well. Our plates were cleared and we were presented with the bill and immediately expected to pay. We asked for a few minutes and then sorted the bill. We sat finishing our drinks when we were approached by a member of staff (the lady who had taken out payment and asked if we could hurry up to leave. I was genuinely shocked. Considering it was before 9pm and we had our table booked for 7:30pm and there was tables around us that were there when we arrived and hadn't been asked to leave we were understandably quite upset. I assumed that the people at the door had been told we would be leaving soon and they had attempted to rush us out as we had finished our mains. It's pretty disappointing having spent £80 somewhere and not even an hour and a half and were being ushered out. Shame on you guys.

Excellent in having a lovely evening meal this was a delight I had to leave for a while to let the splendor work the atmosphere was devine and people so kind friendly 😀 😊 the meal was a bonus a splendor of a pork wan ton soup and also amazing art work surrounding in a wonderful experience to see a real thai restaurant in leeds is great five stars if you can find your way through the stars this place was shining in the headingley centre a bad light recently seen two young lady sadly hurt however this is reality of government who had left that paticular man vounrable also the people who walked that sad day in headingley having sat here in London finding the answers sadly the out come was terrible for those there but that was last week further up close to my church I found when looking on headingley for a safe nice place to read and write that's why I go there to see my girl thrive on the good please I ask of good people forget the bad but move in a positive direction in forgetting the heart ache people felt that Saturday in leeds . Dreadful service from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. We were left unattended in the reception area for 15 minutes. No one greeted us or took our table reservation details. We were not offered to put our coats anywhere and were not offered a drink whilst we waited. When we were eventually seated again we were offered no drinks for 30 minutes and had to ask for drinks and also to order. Our server was very young and clearly out of his depth. Redeeming, the food was good although a little pricey for what it was and the portion size. After we had finished our mains no-one came to clear out plates away. After 20 minutes we decided to leave and asked for the bill and a taxi to be booked. No bill arrived or looked like it would arrive so we went to the front desk and asked to pay. They were unable to tell us if the taxi waiting outside was ours or not. It was and he had been about to leave. Poor service and communication spoilt the night which was a first date. Had it not been a first date we would have complained .
