"ASK Italian Lewes" is a fantastic restaurant that really made an incredible impression on me. From the moment I stepped inside, I was amazed by the cosy but elegant interior - it's a place where you immediately feel comfortable.
Now, let's get to the food. ASK Italian serves up a mouthwatering selection of Italian dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving:
Burrata & Pancetta Carbonara: This dish is a newer addition to the menu, and let me tell you, it's a winner. Creamy mascarpone, pecorino, and riserva cheeses mingle perfectly with crispy pancetta and asparagus. It's pasta perfection.
Purple Basil Pesto Genovese with Chicken: Picture this: fresh tagliatelle coated in a delicious green pesto cream, with added green beans and pine nuts for extra flavor. And the basil pesto? It won a Great Taste award in 2018, so you know it's good.
King Prawn & Crayfish: If you're a seafood lover, this dish is for you. Succulent king prawns and crayfish swim in a creamy tomato sauce with just a hint of chili. Plus, the addition of lobster bisque takes it to the next level.
Sausage & Truffle Infused Olive Oil: Calling all truffle fans! This dish features Luganica sausage in a creamy tomato sauce infused with truffle mushrooms. Topped with mascarpone, smoked prosciutto, and a drizzle of truffle oil—it's a flavor explosion in every bite.
The service at ASK Italian is top-notch. The staff is super friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything you need. Whether you're a foodie looking for your next culinary adventure or just craving some delicious Italian fare, you'll feel right at home here.
In conclusion, ASK Italian is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves good food and a great atmosphere.

Read moreI went to ASK looking for something to eat after being out most of the day and having quite an appetite. I ordered a Margherita pizza with a portion of fries topped with cheese and garlic. I’m really disappointed — my pizza was almost £14 and had no quality or freshness whatsoever. It tasted like a frozen pizza, there was no oregano as mentioned on the menu, and it was quite small.
The restaurant wasn’t even busy. The two young cooks looked bored and miserable, and the whole atmosphere was unwelcoming, which made the experience even worse.
I didn’t complain at the time because the people cooking didn’t seem to be trained chefs but rather young staff with little experience so no point to send the food back.
It’s frustrating how some places use the word Italian as if it guarantees quality, yet completely fail to deliver it. Charging those prices without proper training or good food is unacceptable.
I honestly would not recommend this...
Read moreWill start off by saying I am not one to leave bad reviews, I work in the industry and know how nitpick people can be but had a really mediocre experience here and charged £40 for the pleasure 👍 Starter was hot fried arancini, which tasted just okay but served with a fridge cold tomato sauce which was a bit strange. We had to ask for everything, salt, pepper, cutlery, parmesan as not on the table or offered freely. Restaurant was at maximum a quarter filled and tables around us left dirty for our whole duration there. Food also took a little longer than expected considering how quiet it was. Mains were a complete let down, pasta completely overcooked so just tasted slimy and wet and both carbonara and bolognaise really lacking in any actual meat. Under salted and really nothing special. Have had better pasta at independents for a fiver. Save yourself the money. Staff sweet and friendly but otherwise the best thing was the chips and...
