Holy Cow! Ice Cream Company Ltd — Restaurant in Lewes

A must-try shop for locals and visitors alike, with a shop in town just off the main shopping street, and a seafront ice ream shack. Holy Cow is my favourite ice cream shop, I only realised recently that the town centre shop is also a cafe serving light food and quality coffee and drinks. However, the artisanal ice cream is the star of the show here. Gorgeous flavours that change frequently, so there's always something new to try, from traditional flavours to trend-led flavour combinations. Fantastic quality ingredients, generous portions, and a great range of serving options suitable for the smallest to the biggest appetite at value for money prices. Personally, I find the ice cream so filling it's satisfying like a light meal. TBH, it's hard to walk past the shop without buying an ice cream....

Okay I was parked about 20 feet up from this establishment when it was closing and had the lovly plesure while waiting to pick up friend of mine leaving my engine running idle for all of 4 minutes a very rude member of the staff dictating to me after taking the time to walk the 20 feet to turn my engine off and how its illegal to leave my engine running wen parked . After politely exspalining my vehicle has a catalytic converter as well as the frind I was picking up appeared and got in car so not iddelling for more than 5 minutes well was more after this relentless woman persisted going on and on I rolled up my window and drove away. I dont think I'll ever be a customer deffo a eco nut...

We visited as part of a day trip from London with our young daughter. The service was friendly as were other local customers, who knew the staff and clearly visit regularly. We tried the apricot, coconut and vegan chocolate flavours; all were delicious but we particularly liked the coconut. I’m coeliac, so was delighted to see gluten-free cones and cakes on offer and staff were knowledgeable about allergies - very thoughtful and something we would go out of our way for.
