Avocado Salad consists of salad leaves, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion all for £9.00. The Avocado was the worst thing I've ever tasted. It was mashed, watery and slimey with a very weird taste. It was all over my salad. I couldnt eat it, when I mentioned it to the server she assured me that the avocados are fresh on the day. She offered me another and bought it over on a small plate, this time it had been sliced, the plate was warm and so was the Avocado, I took a taste and it was just as awful and spat it out. So when they say fresh they mean frozen then defrosted in the microwave. Frozen,watery,slimey with a funky taste. As apposed to soft and creamy with a nice subtle taste. It's a very simple thing to get right. Needless to say I will not be returning. I've not lived in England for 15 years, and every time I come back, I crave a good ol' English breakfast. I only just discovered Churchill's this week and this morning is the second time I've been in (writing this as I'm still sat here). The food is incredible and great value for money. I had the classic gourmet breakfast again and I'm stuffed! This morning I've been served by a lovely blonde lady, who has been very attentive to all this morning's customers and checked with me to make sure the food is good. She's obviously very well liked as the patrons know her and she remembers all their names too. First time eating here and it was a pleasant surprise to find this place. The restaurant itself has a very traditional look to it and has a nice cosy interior with plenty of seating. The full works deal is a tenner for a full english and a hot and cold drink so very happy with the price. The front of house staff were very helpful and accommodating and the wait was about twenty minutes also so no complaints there. The beans were a little cold but other than that everything else about the full english was bang on, I could however hear a lot of noise and shouting from the kitchen upstairs perhaps the place could benefit from a bit of music in the restaurant 😂 I could definitely see myself...
