Came on Friday night with my partner, where to start... The place was empty, just us and 1 other couple, should have been a hint but ignored it, thought it was just because we were out early for dinner, around 5pm.
Ordered 2 san miguels, at a cost of £6.60 (we arent in London).
I ordered a £15 peri peri chicken, my partner ordered a £14 Philly Cheese steak pizza. We'll start with mine. I got a single, dry, half burnt chicken breast, a handful of rocket and a silver cup of chips covered with COARSE rock salt, and i mean coarse. One lump was the size of a 5p piece. I had to send them back, they were inedible. They took just the chips, not my whole plate, so i was left 5minuted whilst my burnt, dry chicken also went cold. My partner offered me a slice of her pizza whilst she waited. 'Philly cheese steak with smatterings of chimchurri...' it was advertised on the menu, quite literally the least flavoured pizza i've ever eaten, if i hadnt just tasted something so salty i nearly got kidney-stones, i'd have thought i had covid, thats how bland the pizza was. So, my chips arrived back, still covered in salt, now slighly less than before but also the surface temperature of the sun. We ate, my Peri Peri Chicken was about as marinated as the philly cheesesteak pizza, zero flavour. So we finished.. And waited. And waited. And after 20minutes called a waitress over to ask her to take our plates and if we could get the bill (not sure why this took as long as it did, still only 4 of us in the restaurant). So, bill came back, not only had they not removed anything for the salt with a side of chips, but they also wanted to charge us a 10% service charge for the honour of being ignored for 20minutes with empty plates in front of us. Now, i'm not normally the type to argue an 'optional' service charge (is it really optional though if its already added to the bill when it gets to you?), but in this instance i certainly wasnt going to pay it. Had it removed and we left . First and last time we go to Wildwood, the restaurant that makes you question whether its covid or...
Read moreVisited Wildwood today. Was greeted by nobody and had to ask the bar tender if we was to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. We was told there was a wait of 20 mins. There was plenty of empty tables so unsure why this was but hey ho. We sat at the bar and he gave us a drinks menu.. We was not offered if we wanted to order a drink. a few moments later, we was shown to our table. After a further 15 minutes, we finally was seen to where someone took our order for drinks and food. The food came and that was it, no ask of any condiments and not even after a few minutes was we asked if everything was ok for us.
It then came to asking for the bill having sat waiting on the table with empty plates for 10 minutes. We was finally seen to and asked for the bill.. AGAIN after a further 10 minutes, we asked again and we was told that he would not be a minute.. The bill came with a 10% service tip on which we would of paid if there was any actual service! We asked for this to be taken off, the bill was still wrong! They still tried to charge us a few quid more! Ended up adding the bill up in front of them to prove they was still trying to charge us more!
DISGUSTING and Fraudulent! - Such a shame the experience was negative overall as the food we...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. We had all booked and pre ordered all our meals. My partner and myself have never been here before and I can honestly say we will never return!. We arrived early and were seated.. Amongst used disguarded tissues and large amounts of spilt/ dropped food stuffs on the floor and stuck onto table legs.. I asked the waitress to please sweep up the distgusting remnants of the previous diners. ( which obviously should have been dealt with before our party arrived). Our meal was booked for 20.00 and after two attempts of getting our pre ordered food..we were finally served at 21.02!! My 6/ tiger prawns were served in a bowl full of chilli ,chilli and more chilli! With some stale bread as an accompliment! My main of seafood linguine consisted of 3 king prawns..one piece of calamari and 7 mussels ( of which 3 were not open)! However if you enjoy tomatoes you are in luck as I removed at least 10 half cherry tomatoes from the dish! The only saving grace is that when I went to pay and voiced my opinion..I was told it was on the house. Thankyou. First time here but...
