This is the worst experience I have ever had eating out. Called in cafe at lunch time 31st May 2024.The reasons for this review are as follows. The new order on screen on way is very time consuming and causing queues due to people (especially kids) taking a while to make their minds up which is understandable. Then the meal deals need to be picked out of display cabinet on way past and then you need to get your own drinks from drink station on way too. This means that it can be at least 10 mins before you get to your table. The hot meals are then bought to table. All sounds almost reasonable if time consuming. This is also very awkward for disabled people. The main probs then started. Meals arrived staggered and here was no forks in cutlery station. When asking staff it took a while to get them... Also butter hard to find etc. By the time you get everything sorted your meal as been on table several mins and is stone cold. Then soup was served which had not been heated at all. Some staff appeared to have no idea what they were doing. We then put down tools and stopped eating. I did ask to see manager and very quickly someone arrived. After discovering All the meals were completely cold a full refund was offered along with anythinv free from sandwich and sweet fridge. This was sorted very quickly. We all ended up with cold food dishes instead but it was free and sorted out effortlessly. May just have been a very bad day. So don't know what food was like. Atmosphere was chaotic even though only a third full. Service was poor until complaining. And then sorted promptly with no hassle. Morrisons you need to train staff better and have better routines in place to ensure things restocked better. In my opinion you also need to ditch the self service. The lady on end who appeared to be trying to sort all issues out and who eventually was the one who sorted us out appeared rushed off her feet and embarrassed by how things were running. I would suggest she was promoted as she obviously appeared bemused by the way things were being done and the lack of any organisation. The cafe as always had a good name so I suggest you act now before word gets around about the fact the service and system as totally collapsed and this is no longer a pleasant experience but more...
Read more9 Mar 23:. I broke my promise and had an all. Day breakfast. Still Auto ordering, but the software is much more user friendly. Food was well cooked, presented nicely and served by really friendly staff. So I've upgraded to 3⭐, would have been 4 if it was not for the new QR code ordering system. If your going to use IT make it user friendly, use the code to take me to the actual site location and not make me sign up to the Morrison group. Who do you employ in your IT dept? That really ant the best.
1 Star review: 7 Mar 22. 3 years since my last visit and I've dropped it a star. The ordering system had gone from bad to worse. Now you have to order by touch screen at the entrance. But before you can pay you must identify your table. Errr, I'm by myself and can't reserve a table and order. It is also a very difficult system for the old and disabled to use, it's boadering on discrimination. Oh the scamp and chips was very poor for quality and price. I CAN HONESTLY SAY I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER BEEN IN A WORSE MANAGED RESTAURANT.......Never again.
What FOOL put those electronic order machines in? Not nearly as intuitive as the McDonald system, which I'm assuming they are trying to emulate. During our meal I must have seen 8+ couples give up and walk away, young as well as old. Food up to Morrisons normal standard.
Update, my inlaws went to the Retford Morrison cafe which has the same electronic order system. They are in their mid 70s and just gave up, however as the Reftord store has kept its menu boards they were able to order in the traditional manner.
Morrisons: Please understand that technology is only useful it enhances the customer experience and improves business performance, with the aim of improving cashflow and market share. Your system will do neither if people...
Read moreWe've eaten here many times before. It has always been a reasonable standard of cafe food and offered excellent value whilst out shopping with the kids. This visit however, was shockingly bad. We ordered four "Christmas turkey dinners" and it was absolutely awful. The "Roast turkey" was two wafer thin slices of the cheapest processed turkey sandwich meat you could imagine. It looked like they had sliced those cheap dog food sausages and served us that! One and a half tiny roast potatoes, watery gravy etc... everything cold and grey looking. There was more space on my plate than food... Filthy tables, filthy cutlery, hardly any drinks left, coffee machines broken, asked for no peas on my daughter's meal, arrived with peas... I could go on. The staff even agreed with us when we complained and swiftly refunded. You could tell this is a regular conversation for them and they just don't care. We left and got a burger in b&q car park instead, which was absolutely lovely 😂 We won't be back to Morrison's cafe. Very disappointing. Go into b&q carpark and find the burger van that looks like a team carriage, it's...
