Went here on saturday evening with a family of 12. Service was absolutely shocking and one member of staff was rude as hell. Not a good start we felt :( We was left waiting on drink orders for 20mins to only be serverd half the drinks we orderd (told they was busy) Rite for the starts some was oky but we had a mix starter combo at a cost of £14 :/ get what you pay for rite? Not in this case tho :( Prawn small and ribs full of fat totally over priced. Rest of the family was not happy with the quality either. So with the starters not gone well we was waiting an hour for our main yes 1 hour with long delays on our drinks. Plates was dirty aswell but they changed them tbh for more dirty ones 👀 Finally our meal came out :) in this case the duck was nice as always but we found the chicken curry not very good cheap chicken processed at a guess like rubber. The rest of the dishes was hit and miss but we did have a large order with the amount of family that came.
So the BILL £340 Not bad incl food a drink rite? If it was a good meal with service etc then fine but it was not the case.
Time to complain then :/ Not something we like to Do tbh but this time instead of walking away and never go back we decided to confront our issues with the manger. Was was given £40 discount and told they was to busy and apologies but as for the quality of the food and ingredients he had nothing to say :( Been here many of times it does normally serve up good food and quality but I feel like many restaurants there no cost cutting on food quality etc (processed chicken) For one. They did not seem to realy care about out bad experience but on the plus side the homeless people outside seem impressed with a large amount off free food we could not eat. Won't be going back again after our exsperience but hope they get back...
Read moreReview February 2020 -5 STAR We have used this restaurant on and off since the last review and can happily report that the food standard has been top quality. Recently, we have have 3 take aways in just 6 weeks and each time it has been great.
On collection, or food was hot. Portion size filled the containers and the quality of the meat and vegetables was very good.
They do get very busy at times and I would suggest that those times are when standard slip. Since 2018, we have managed to receive good tasty food. We think this place is absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in Lincoln. Review August 2018 - 4 STAR - So we tried this place again after a long period away and the quality of the food has returned to their, mostly, good standard. Our takeaway was hot and tasty although we ordered a plain noodle for our 9 year old and it tasted a bit too salty. That will be because of too much soy. The noodles looked quite dark too and helps to confirm that suspicion.
We will return in a few months and update the review as they have in the past been a very good restaurant. Not sure they would win awards just yet but headed in the right direction. Original Review 2017 - 1 STAR - Food has gone down hill big time! Egg fried rice tastes like boiled rice with a bit of yellow in it. Noodles not fried instead, only shown the pan. Price has crept up and flavour gone down. Highly disappointed.
The positives: Full range of food on the menu and willing to adjust a dish to taste e.g broad noodles or different types of vegetables. Sometimes very busy, booking advised. Telephone orders in advance for takeaway.
Clean restaurant and very friendly staff.
Overall: Was the best Chinese 2 years ago. Now the worst Chinese...
Read moreWe ordered through Deliveroo for Phoenix restaurant on Valentine's night at 6:26pm. We know it will be a busy night and it might take an hour or more for our order but we chanced it. And on the app, it didn't even say it will take that long. True enough it didn't, because it took 3 HOURS and 45 MINUTES before our food came. It arrived at 10:10pm. We tried to cancel the order several times through Deliveroo but the app is not letting us cancel it. We rang Phoenix restaurant several time to cancel the order but the phone is always busy. We complained to Deliveroo today about the issue but they said they could not do anything as Phoenix restaurant has their own delivery drivers. It's just greed really. Phoenix restaurant knows that they will be very busy that night but they still took delivery orders. They should have cancelled all the deliveries on their end when they noticed that it's taking hours (not just minutes) for delivery orders to be sent out. What makes it worst, there wasn't even an apology from Phoenix's delivery driver that it took that long. He was in such a hurry he just handed the bag and said "there you go mate" and ran back to his car. The wait was so bad that in between those hours we managed to order Mackies through Deliveroo still and got the food in 30 minutes. Just totally unacceptable. Just...
