6 of us ate here on 21st August 8pm, 2 of us ordered steak, 1 med rare, 1 medium to well, the waitress told us this will take around 40 minutes due to the med to well done steak!! So when I questioned her about that, and said quite rightly pan frying steak is 2.5 mins per side med rare, an extra minute per side med to well done, not 40 mins! She replied quite rudely, not here it doesn't, and that she doesn't have to explain herself to me! And saw her obviously talking to her manager about us! When the meals came out, they were very nice, we were checked after 5 mins that everything was OK, at that point they were, but then 1 person found a chicken bone in his pie, consequently he didn't eat it but he didn't want any fuss, when the waitress came to clear our plates, we mentioned the bone, a different waitress, not sure if it was the manageress, rudely said, "well you didn't say anything when we asked if everything was OK"! How rude Consequently!! we didn't leave a tip, normally were quite heavy tippers, but on this occasion the sheer rudeness and unprofessional attitude of this part of the team, has not only cost the other staff a tip, but we won't be returning unless they...

Hanover Street Social is a sort of bar/restaurant just up from John Lewis. More restaurant than bar these days I think.

Popular place, especially on a Monday when there is wine for all at discount prices. We booked, so all good there. Everyone inside seemed to be having a good time.

The food here is very nice - the black pudding starter with pfefferkörn sauce is iconic. Main was a chicken pot pie which, I have to say, was bursting with flavour. Surprising. I would have had dessert, but nobody else wanted it, so I demurred but also disapprove of that decision… 😆

The beer was Estrella. As it ever was. Popular beer in this part of the world. They also had the Camden Town lager, but that makes my head hurt… 😆

Lots of big parties in the night we visited. Perfect place for a meal with your work colleagues I guess.

Does this place have anything to do with the Gas Street Social in Birmingham? No idea. Similar names. I’ve noticed places called ‘Social’ springing up all over the place over the last decade. Coincidence, trend or are they all connected? 🤔

See if you can spot the car in the basement. How did it get there? Why is...

Location for my son's graduation afternoon family dinner. On check-in the chap was struggling with his laptop based guest booking system as it had just crashed so we got directed to the bar to wait. We hung around for a bit thinking we'd be seated shortly but as that seemed to not be happening we ordered drinks. The chap behind bar was very friendly and helpful in choosing a beer. Having eventually been seated, the service was excellent and very prompt and the food when it came was delicious 👍

We had 2x Crispy pork belly with red wine jus, 2x Gnocchi, and a Seabass with a nice bottle of wine a couple of beers. 2x shared puddings later and all where suitably stuffed 👍 Despite there reservation website suggesting that you have a 2hr time limit to exit the table, there was never any hint of this whilst we where there despite being well over this time.

It got busier whilst we where there but over all it remained a pretty relaxed atmosphere. In summary, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, the food is outstanding for the price and I can highly recommended the...

8th May. Vegans beware! At lunch today it was discovered that I had been served non vegan food by mistake on my last visit. Incredibly disappointing and unacceptable given potential food allergies and intolerances. Manager handled complaint well, so they get at least 1 star. 25.4.24 Carrot cake frosting tasted like margarine, so that wasn't so nice. ********************************************** Latest visit - Mediocre at best - Sunday Food wasn't up to regular standard Deducted 2 stars Update: LOVE the vegan options here. The hummus starter with the pickles, pesto and chick peas is my favourite. 💚 Both the nut roast and chilli noodles are delicious.💚 Carrot cake with mango sorbet was lovely too.💚 Exceptional quality vegan food. 2nd visit. They've expanded the vegan menu to 3 main meals...desserts too. Friendly staff. They just need plant based milk for coffee now. 1st visit...good food. Limited vegan menu.

A Hidden Gem in Liverpool You’ll Want to Revisit" I’ve visited this spot a few times on weeknights, and it’s never disappointed. If you’re heading there with a big group, definitely book ahead — it gets busy (and for good reason!). The staff are warm and welcoming, the portions are generous, and every dish is cooked fresh with flavors that hit just right. On Mondays and Thursdays, they offer an unbeatable deal: two courses and a bottle of wine — excellent value for money. If you go, do yourself a favor and try the honey and chilli glazed wings to start. They’re the kind of starter that makes you pause mid-bite just to say, “Wow.” Whether you’re after a quick bite or a relaxed evening, this is one Liverpool spot worth dropping by again and again.

I’ve been here too many times to count. Yet i have never had one bad experience here. The decor of the restaurant is casual but also welcoming and vibrant. The service has been spot on every time. Helpful and friendly towards its guests. The food is to die for. I do very much recommend the sea bass, hummus and chargrilled pita, pork belly, and the gnocchi. They’re the ones i’ve personally tried, so if they don’t interest you, then they are more options off the menu for you to try. All in all i can’t fault anything about Hanover Street Social. I would most certainly book ahead, as it does get busy between Lunch time and Dinner. Without further ado, i would suggest you come here with friends and family and enjoy the venue.
