Booked a table for 2 for 8:30, took a walk down from Lime Street with my girlfriend, I'd never been before so didn't know exactly where it was but was easy enough to find, saw the sign on the wall and walked in, was greeted by a girl and there was a little confusion about our booking, they'd booked us in the name Paul instead of Carl (common mistake), I said just call me whatever you want I'm starving, sat by the window and my girlfriend ordered a jug of Sangria but was told they don't do sangria (even though it's on the menu on the website), I brushed it off and ordered a woowoo, read through the menu to order my dishes, got a bit annoyed that they'd changed their entire menu too as I'd already picked out what I wanted from the website on the train here, I wasn't going to let that ruin my night though, we had a few glasses from our jug of woowoo, and it wasn't until that point that I looked a bit closer at the logo on the menu and realised... I'm not actually in the right restaurant am I. Anyway Paul walks in with his wife only to be told that they'd already arrived 20 minutes ago and were sat by the window half way through a jug of woowoo. I think Paul was a bit more confused that I was, I just felt like a nob. So after an embarrassing 5 minutes we went next door to the Salt House. Atmosphere was great, staff were really nice and helpful and OMG them prawns! They were easily the best prawns I've ever tasted. We ordered several dishes and it was all well worth the money, even...

We were upstairs and the two ladies running the floor were fabulous: calm, supportive, great with guests and never overbearing. Our server was wonderful too—friendly, efficient and genuinely warm.
We ordered a spread: bread, cod croquettes, chicken skewers, chorizo, patatas bravas, salad and meatballs. Honestly, some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. The meatballs were sensational and the croquettes were spot on - crisp outside, silky inside. Even the chicken skewers - my personal least favourite of the night - were still lovely. Everything was well-seasoned, served hot, and perfectly paced.
I work in hospitality, so I notice the little things: smooth teamwork, thoughtful check-backs, water topped up without fuss, and a relaxed atmosphere despite the bustle. I’ve rarely felt this relaxed at a meal, everything was just… perfect.
Can’t wait to come back, and I’ve already told everyone to make...
Read moreAccommodated large group despite no booking. A complete GF menu for our Coeliac diner which was great for her and they clarified and ensured anything we were ordering for table was not intended for Coeliac as they took order. Drinks were promptly delivered and large beers and wine were great. Waitress gave recommendations on portion sizes for the 7 splitting the tapas. When we received one dish incorrectly they apologised, told us to keep and enjoy it and assured our final dish plate was on the way. Food was high quality and great flavour. The baked cheese and honey chorizo as well as fish croquettes were favourites of table. Patron Peppers we felt needed more seasoning but a generous serve and very hot. Only fault was we had yo seek out extra cutlery, plates and had to ask for the bill and again for the card machine. If we weren't in a rush this wouldn't have been an issue but as we had taxis booked we would have preferred more prompt...
