Wwooo!! Here we go 🔥🙌
So I have been attending this restaurant weekly for nearly 2 months now - please let that highlight to you the value of this particular review 🧐😉🙂
Over my on going patronage, I have enjoyed some very attentive service here and this is a really big thing for me - when I walk in, the members of the team who I see most often know my table (when it is available of course), my set drink, the time I like my set drink delivered and most importantly, the set time that I like to make my food order…
Honestly this is like clock work now (I had to tell them for the first couple of weeks of course, but it caught on really fast after that and now it is just effortless and fun) and as a guest I just think that this is one of the most amazing experiences you can have at a restaurant - knowing that your specific requirements are heard, loved and taken care of with the addition of good vibes between us in the process…
I absolutely love this restaurant and the experience I have here every week, it’s only growing and getting better - it’s something I genuinely look forward to every week and the team as a whole are just wonderful!
I would like to make a few special mentions:
General Manager - Donna (the queen, the juggernaut, the quintessential)…
Supervisor - Olivia (the asset, the caring, the welcoming, the detail, the concentration)…
Assistant General Manager - Jacopo (the glorious, the sass, the energy, the fashion)…
CON-SIS-TENT-LY have these 3 people shown me a level of care that is indicative of the word hospitality - I am so very happy, thank you to all 3 of you and the team as a whole 👊😎
A few dishes to mention as well (cooked to perfection here):
Calamari Scallops French Onion Soup Pork Belly Beef Bourguignon Duck A L’Orange Crème Caramel (salted caramel with madeleine) Chocolate Fondant Yuzu Macaron
Keep smashing it please chefs...
Read moreWhen we arrived, the restaurant was quiet with lots of tables available. We were having a late lunch, it was around 1:30pm. We are a family with a toddler and baby in a stroller. We were shown to a table right by the toilet downstairs. This meant that people were passing by my husband who felt he was in the way of the toilet door opening. We looked for another table were the stroller could fit without being in the way of other customers, so we thought the table in front of another that was full of restaurant papers etc was the best choice. We asked if we could move to this different table, staff member was reluctant, explaining that staff needed to get to that table but then said it was ok. No other table was suggested so we took our seats there. Then we ordered food and drinks. I asked for the Passion in Paris cocktail. I asked the waiter if it could be made with another vodka rather than Absolut (and said I was willing to pay the price difference) and explained how Absolut vodka doesn’t agree with me and makes me sick. I’m not sure the waiter took me seriously but I had to trust that the staff of Cote would take their responsibility of looking after their customers seriously. Food was good. Duck à l’orange was particularly good, along with a small glass of wine. Dessert was good, my husband and I shared the Chocolate tart. Staff appeared to get a little friendlier as time went on, with a couple of staff interacting with our children a little towards the end of our time there. We appreciated this. However, I was ill after the restaurant visit which leads me to thinking it was either the food or that the cocktail was Absolut vodka after all. I will never know for sure but based on my body’s reaction, I think the latter. This was our second visit to Cote. I don’t think I’ll take my family back there. I wouldn’t want to risk any of us...
Read moreThe waitress with a ponytail was terrible and rude, she lacked communication and appropriate service.
The individual who took our order claimed that we should order more at a "restaurant," but then proceeded to not provide us with appropriate service.
Furthermore, a dignified "restaurant's" waitress should check on their customer to see if they are ready to order, but we were left waiting for 15 minutes, we had to take the initiative to remind the waitress of her role. In the self-proclaimed "restaurant," we were not met with expectations that even a simple kebab shop could deliver.
This aspect of the service from the waitress was very externally inconsistent as she claimed it was a "restaurant" where we should "order more," but she was unable to live up to the standards of a "restaurant."
As such, the atmosphere was dull. It even started raining on us specifically at this "restaurant" on a day where the precipitation was 4% in Liverpool City Centre.
The Crème brûlée did not deliver in taste, the addition of the pineapple does not meet the standard upon which Crème brûlée should be judged, it does not taste great. This is very discriminatory to French cuisine and the recipe should be reviewed. Rather, a much better option would be an authentic and standard Crème brûlée.
Consequently, the greatest delivery of our experience at this Côte branch was the bill, which signified finality in our experience at the Côte "restaurant" in Liverpool, the icing on the cake was the rain stopping as soon as we left the "restaurant."
The above has been considered against the standard of a particular type of cuisine which is French cuisine, and it has been rejected as a decent French restaurant branch.
Note: This only applies to the Côte...
