We had a cheeky drink before the concert. This pub is on one of the taxi routes to Anfield, and the roads here are hectic. It was a Saturday evening, and the Boss was in town... the traffic was rammed. So, we got out by the pub and had a drink before walking on. The pub is a little gem. It's a pub, nothing special, you order, you get a drink. It was lively, and the owners had misjudged the staffing... I totally missed the fact that Bruce Springsteen was in town 😳 Needless to say, there was pension at the bar. But, it was handled well, and I have to thank the bar lady who stayed on to help out after her shift had ended. Respect! The pub itself, though, is an antique. We went outside as it was a nice evening. I couldn't help notice the intricate detail on the external building. This is an old pub, and a lot of the original decoration remains. Original facade is fabulously maintained and when enter, a proper old pub and local. AS I called in early afternoon, only handful of regulars at bar, but was welcomed and chatted with them and barmaid. In back there's old photos and information of history of pub and area.
