Based on our experience this lunchtime it seems like the rude landlady is still in occupation! Upon entering we were ushered to a table, abruptly, and told where and what the children in our group could or could not do. Perhaps not the most friendly of welcomes.... ...however this list of do's and don't's did not include the touching of menus - but we were soon put to rights when she shot from behind the bar to verbally chastise one of the children for daring to pick up a food menu from the table top! We decided to take our money elsewhere for lunch, as this hostile customer service was unwarranted and unwelcome. It made me wonder how they stay in business treating customers in this fashion (they lost the money for 9 lunches by her disgraceful attitude), but then charging over £5 per pint probably helps. After the fact I looked on Trip Advisor and unsurprisingly this pub is nowhere to be found. Less of a coincidence and more a result of deliberate avoidance of genuine...

I was looking for a place to have xmas dinner for 8 people on a Friday night in London. Almost impossible to find. So delighted to be able to book a table at The Adam & Eve at St James'. Never been before but reviews were very good. I did pay a £40 reservation fee which I was tentative about. We arrived early at 6pm for a 7pm reservation but staff managed to set up our table in a very festive way and were very helpful especially Katarina. I had placed pre-menu orders online and everything was served when we asked for it. Food was of high quality and staff were really helpful. Also overall pub was fairly quiet so we could hear each other. Would definitely visit...

Greetings mate, I quite enjoyed my meal at this little Pub. It was rather empty when we arrived at lunch time, but I trusted my gut and went in anyway. We ordered at the counter like any good lad would and the. Seated ourselves. All meals was surprisingly delicious. I very much enjoyed the sauce accompanying the meat pie. Their Flint Eye been was nice and refreshing although I felt a little guilty drinking during lunch, but what the hell I said, twas vacation and their beer so marketed so heavily I had to try. By the time we left, the pub was filled with no seats left so I felt like a trendsetter eh?

Well mates , to sum up this story I think you should...

Spotted this pub on the way to Buckingham Palace from the tube, and it was a great place to take a rest for lunch. Staff was very accommodating , and had me read a tablet for food allergies and sign off on being aware that my allergens were in the kitchen, and that the chef would also be notified. It is always nice when pubs/restaurants are educated on food allergies and make you feel confident that you won't be playing russian roulette with your meal. The Steak and Ale pie lived up to my expectations. All the food that was ordered by my party was thoroughly enjoyed. They also have you pay after you order, so there's no worry later about the bill.

I had a fantastic lunch experience at this restaurant! The food was superb, especially the fish and chips, which were absolutely wonderful. The beer selection impressed me as well, being of excellent quality. The atmosphere was very pleasant, creating a great setting for a midday meal. What stood out most, however, was the outstanding service. The staff were incredibly attentive and made sure we had a perfect dining experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious food and great service in a lovely setting.
