AVOID! Abysmal, rude, ignorant staff!

My family and I visited this establishment and we were left extremely angry and disappointed. On our way to Buckingham Palace, our two kids spotted the desserts and tasty looking treats through the window. We promised to visit on our way home.

We ordered some desserts and coffees. Our problem wasn’t with the food, but the atrocious attitude of the guy who served us. He was extremely rude, abrupt and ignorant almost to the point of confrontational. A young Eastern European gentleman I would guess (who I think you can see in some of the photos that appear here on Google).

As we ordered desserts, we thought once we paid, we would be served pretty quickly, so we stayed at the counter. The guy serving us didn’t advise us otherwise. He placed a dessert on the counter (the exact same type of dessert we had ordered) and my 10 year old daughter, out of pure excitement, got stuck in right there and then.

That’s when the attitude started from the staff member. It was a dessert meant for another table, (although there were plenty others of the same type in the display counter).

He started giving out loudly, making rude comments, gesturing with his hands, rolling his eyes, tutting etc. SHE IS A CHILD AND SHE MADE AN INNOCENT MISTAKE. If you had not have been so rude and ignorant in the first place and advised us to take a seat, it would never have happened, but to make my daughter feel that uncomfortable and upset over an honest mistake, HOW DARE YOU!!!!

The WORST customer service I have ever experienced in any establishment anywhere in the world. A word of advice, be more selective with your staff or at least try to teach them some basic manners, as they were seriously lacking in this guy.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. In fact, you should AVOID...

I hate to write a bad review but my experience today was the worst service I have experienced in central London. I popped in to grab a sandwich. I came here on purpose instead of Pret to try to support another business. After picking it up I waited for nearly 10 mins at the counters (with the staff cooking staring at me) to pay before someone came over. In that time at least three sets of people came and left as there wasn't anyone. Eventually someone came and I was asked if I wanted it toasted. I said yes and asked how long, waitress said two minutes. However even though I would have been happy to wait longer, she proceeded to serve two more sets of people before putting my sandwich in the toaster. After about 7 mins I had to jump back in the queue (a kind person let me in front) to ask where my sandwich was. The person I asked left to get drinks for the table service and told another member of staff to check for me. I then had to explain the situation again.

Why isn't there a designated member of staff at the takeaway counter at busy lunchtimes to cover food and takeaway coffees? Staff were flitting in between takeaway and table service and drinks, there was so much confusion. I think allocation of staff might have been the biggest issue.

Should there be an order system for hot takeaways?

Communication - tell me if there is a delay!

Friendly staff - it goes a long way, I couldn't help feeling like I was an inconvenience to the staff.

I am usually happy to pay for an overpriced sandwich in Central London, however the hassle was just not...

Went for happy hour, four of us ordered the same cocktail but they tasted completely different. Two were basically gin and soda (disgusting). The cafe was really empty but the staff were really slow and forgot half our cocktail. When we asked about them the waitress just shrugged and walked off. When we complained about the cocktails the bartender was in denial about his mistake so we asked the staff to taste the difference. This tasting session took a good 20 mins for them to deliberate among themselves. In the end we didn't end up paying for the botched two cocktails but the waiter said there wasn't really anything wrong with it. No apology at all from the rubbish bar tender and manager instead we got the cold shoulder. The lady who appeared to be the manager had a particularly bad attitude.

We ordered hummus, which tasted sharp and fizzy. How can hummus be fizzy do you ask? Yes we thought the same. It's quite hard to get hummus wrong really but hey they managed it. At this point we couldn't be bothered to have another tasting session with the staff so just paid and wanted to leave to go to a better establishment. Two of us felt rather unwell that night and it was down to the fizzy hummus and we hadn't eaten anything else. If in the area just avoid. Head down to Victoria there are many lovely eateries and bars there just a 5min walk down the road. Wish I could give them zero stars. A real shame because we went there many times a few months ago and the cocktails were exquisite and the waitresses then were lovely. The new staff...

Popped in for late lunch / early dinner around 4 pm on a Thursday. We were seated. Waited about 10 min for a server to take our order. We were surprised that they didn’t have the daily pie & many of the sandwiches had to be altered because they were out of bread. We ordered soup of the day (cauliflower & onion). Ham & cheese sandwich which had to be put on croissant because that were out of the bread advertised on the menu. The steak sandwich which had to be put on sourdough because they were out of the bread. And an order of sweet potatoe fries. Sandwiches arrived first. Then sweet potato fries & last the soup. Sandwiches were delicious!!! So fresh, so good !!! The sweet potato fries were hot & perfectly cooked !! The soup wasn’t hot but tasted good. We also picked up two of the most amazing brownies to enjoy at the hotel. One was dark chocolate brownie & one salted caramel brownie. Both some of the best brownies I’ve ever had !!

Very pricey coffee shop/restaurant near Victoria station. The location is convenient but the menu has too many options, like it's trying to please every taste, but the actual food doesn't impress on its own. Don't get me wrong: the food is not bad at all, but it's far from what you get in independent local coffee shops around London. Their cakes and pastries are probably their most spot on creations. And the best thing about the place, by far, is the staff. The shop is big and mostly accessible to wheelchair users. Nice place to work from and probably one of the best options for brunch this close to the station.

We came here for breakfast before the changing of the guard. So glad we picked this place! I had the full English breakfast which was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the sourdough was nice and toasty. Enjoyed it with a nice cup of Earl Grey. There are also plenty of pastry options available. Service was fairly quick and staff were friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and welcoming. The bathrooms are very clean as well. Would recommend for either dine in or takeaway!
