Pastries looked enticing. The decor was a minimal modern… and the staff made it feel I was in a Robert Palmer video.
What has prompted me to leave those review is the terrible service. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and after a while I was realizing it was taking a long time. I looked over and noticed two women were signaling to go into the kitchen because they forgot to place the order. That indicated to me I needed to wait a little longer, however one would THINK that once the order was placed and the customer has already been waiting for about 15 mins, you would approach the customer to give a time frame AND you don’t even have to say why if you just set the expectations, am I right?
Wrong. The three women that were just leavening on the counter on their mobiles ignoring me completely.
I finally got up and inquired. The woman who went to place my order late emerged from the lounging ladies group to say, “yes it will be right out.”
OK, so why didn’t you just say that?
Then I waited another 7 mins for it to finally arrive. And as it was placed on the table, not a single word was spoke.. not a simple, so sorry about the wait. Nothing.
It is quite clear these people do not care about their job, they do not care about the customers, and they certainly can’t be bothered with the business and it’s success. Hopefully the next hired staff could give a rat’s behind if there is to be any longevity for Adriana’s in...
Read moreThis place is overpriced. Fact. I think locals put up with it because it's the only half decent looking bougie cafe in the area - either that or people aren't that interested in what they're getting for money. Anyway, I bought this (see photo) and was charged a whopping £14. The board behind has prices for two boxes (large and small) which are definitely not... £14. I'm assuming, in hindsight, that those prices seem to only apply if you want a box of leaves. I'm guessing there are some seriously well fed pet rabbits in the area. Anyway, I can usually deal with daylight robbery if, at least, it's daylight robbery with a smile (please refer to Wholefoods' business model). This place however... not so much a smile, more a grimace. The girl behind the counter literally made me feel like I was causing her great inconvenience bombarding them with my custom. In short, it's a nice looking place on the outside (that's your extra star), but lacking anything of substance on the inside. I'd start by maybe training your staff to be, I don't know, friendly? Oh and £14 for some cous cous, broccoli and a piece of Tesco's salmon marinated in a little olive oil...? Come on. At least TRY and pretend that you're not just in this to rinse the pockets of the bored rich locals who like to spend money like it's going...
