I had quite the opposite experience at this place compared to all the positive reviews.
Staff had their maks below the nose and was not friendly. In particular the woman with dark brown hair. We went there on Sat 13th Mar 21 at around 1600hrs.
She kept asking 'anything else'. As if she could not bother to wait for me as the customer to choose what I want.
I have not been there before so I was just looking at the different cakes as I might want more... when I said I want one more I saw her roll her eyes at me... what a rude woman!!! She threw one of the cakes in the takeway box. I am not blind and such a behavior makes a verybad impression!
Furthermore, NONE of the cakes had a price and a note explaining what it is - you have to ask.... When you ask what a certain thing is the woman had a very poor english and struggled to explain. A basic explanation didn't exactly help as I could see it'schocolate but they can't tell what's inside... I could also see the unpleasant expression on her face when I was asking her questions. I gave up asking what's what. I felt like I was a burden!
I do NOT recommend this place. They should consider putting up prices on cakes as they could make it up on the spot and also a note of what each cake is.. very unprofessional and miserable place.
I will NOT be visiting again. I regret soending money and cakes were...
Read moreEDIT: Listen, please just talk to your staff and ask them to think about how they are making inquisitive customers feel. I can see there a multiple reviews on your store of unfriendly staff. It is literally in your business's interested to do this and get more customers. Being rude and unwilling to change will close your store down eventually. But changing is for free. ORIGINAL: I get the impression that customers are a nuisance and that they'd rather have no business. It seems that it's a chore to have to explain what they have or what each item is. ITS LITERALLY WHAT YOUR BUSINESS EXISTS TO DO BEYOND PUTTING ITEMS IN BAGS. Maybe you should put up a sign outside saying: 'NO QUESTIONS! IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT EACH THING IS OR WHAT WE HAVE TODAY, GO AND RESEARCH ALL GREEK FOODS AND THEN COME IN!' But to be honest they don't even have most classic Greek bakery foods, I lived in Cyprus and Greece for 10 years and they really don't have much. There is a shop near Arnos Grove called Despina's, if you want actually good, authentic and diverse Greek baked goods go there. If you want millennial Greek pastry foods such as...pizza, served with a side of impatience and rudeness, Agora is...
Read moreMe and my friend paid visit to Agora for a coffee yesterday. It's not the first time. We really like this place, living close by and going to the coffee shop often. Unfortunately, an incident happened between my friend and an other customer. The thing is, the complaint is not about the fight between the customers obviously. Out of the blue, an employee of Agora, that has a tattoo on her neck and half-shaved head, intervened to support the other customer and she had an attitude and was rude to my friend. To begin with, it is none of her business and 'assuming' not part of her duties and contract, to interact like that with customers. Consequently, my friend went up to the employee and ask nicely her name, in order to report her, but she refused to give it. Unacceptable! I have been working to hospitality industry as a FOH staff the last 7 years, I have never seen something similar. In my opinion, luck of courtesy, impudence and Unprofessional behaviour. I decided to put 3 starts and not 1, because I still like this place, the coffee is nice, the snacks tasty and the rest of the...
