Aladdins (Hounslow) — Restaurant in London

2 stars, only because I've been going to this place since school. Food might not be great but each to their own.

I don't get this place. Took them a good few years to catch up with the rest of the world with card payments. And now more recently they've opened themselves up to just eat and such, but with inflated prices and reduced menu.

When I've resorted to collecting myself, when I arrive I'm told my order is only just getting prepared as they don't prepare unless its all paid for. Thereby defeating the purpose of convenience of having it ready for when the customer arrives. Guess what? Wouldn't have that problem if you'd taken card payments over the phone!

Nowadays though, forget about them even answering their phone whether its to place a collection order (which is pointless), or to make them aware they've messed up an order or it hasn't arrived at all (probably equally pointless).

More recently discovered they have their own website with the full menu offering, and normal prices but higher delivery costs. Only to discover, that my order doesn't get delivered despite being charged. Honestly, what's happened to you guys? Your customer service is abismal.

Poor customer service, uncaring staff, and slow with providing customer convenience. Seriously going downhill.

If you're going to order, make sure to go to the place yourself, and take plenty of cash because if the automated kiosk breaks down, they won't take any other form of payment. All this whilst it's probably taken your neighbour 5 mins to order from a full menu from a competitor and had their food delivered to theif door, whilst you're still sulking waiting for your food at the kiosk. Not good; not abysmal either... just meh. My order: Chicken Tikka Burger meal (chips + drink). £5.49. Burger: The breast piece whilst well marinated in the tandoori sauce, was quite small and thin. I would say, the fillet piece occupied about 2/3 of the bun - at most. Quite often, I bit into bun and empty space. The burger is garnished with red onion and a mint mayo. Conceptually this could be a great burger, but the execution was mediocre at best. Fillet needs to be more heftier. Chips: Yuk. They had a strange taste that was redolent of a butchers shop. They weren't oily to touch, but left a greasy residue on the roof of the mouth. Not good quality. Location: Good - directly opposite Hounslow East Tube. Premises: Grotty. They have ample space and seats, but the joint needs a lot of care and attention. The décor, furnishings and staff all look worn-out and unkempt. They have the potential to really stand-out and make a name for themselves. Jafar and co. need to seriously up their game and stop cutting corners in order to really earn the moniker 'destination chicken shop'. They don't except any card only cash, secondly parking problem and top of that they don't bother about people making or tickets. Thirdly, they used to have very good quality food but now I believe, they don't change oil for weeks especially try there wings as same as other chicken shops. Some time businesses think might be people just writing these things because of unpleasant experience but every single review gives chance to improve yours issues. New experience last week in October 2020, I order over the phone some nuggets meal for my son the reasons for phone order were that save my time and COVID but I knew that when I go there the food wouldn't be ready as before. I had had same kind of experience before that ordered over the phone and when we got there food was not ready and again we need to stand in the line. This time same thing happened again and then I made my conclusion that they don't bother on phone order because might be they think people wouldn't trun up and they don't take risk.
