“Best biryani eaten in the UK till date” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2014 NEW
I'm pretty focused when it comes to how biryani should taste and made. I've traveled all over the world and there isn't one place (: except for a few in India, and not that many there either :) that compares to this one. Prices range from £8-£11 depending on the meat you prefer. Portions are a little more than adequate - you'll need to make sure you're relatively hungry to finish the plate off. All portions come with a hard boiled egg (: shelled :), curry, and raita as is customary in traditional biryani houses. Taste is spot on. A fellow Hyderabadi biryani enthusiast sitting at another table also agreed with me when I casually mentioned that this place serves the best biryani I've eaten in the UK and is on par with the good places in India. Particularly good biryani is somewhat special even in India. I really have only good things to say about the biryani at this joint. Tried both the mutton and chicken - both great.
Hygiene standards would probably be a "2" on the UK scale but I'm pretty sure they're much higher than India since the food is cooked well, the UK water is very good, and they've got a strong local following of Indian expats whom they'd like to keep and grow.
It's interesting how things are orchestrated to my inner state, I remember when I first came to Hounslow (: after 4 years :) in April and was looking for another biryani place in the same area I noticed this joint and felt a strange "pull" towards it but I ignored it for whatever reason and went ahead to the other joint which served very good biryani by UK standards but nowhere nearly as good as this. This time round I orchestrated (: finding good biryani is always on my mind :) this seemingly accidentally when the bus I was on passed by and I felt a stronger "pull" than ever so I got off at the next stop and walked in. I now realize my self guidance was spot on the first time. I am learning to trust it more and am having better and better experiences in all things.
The ambiance is very, very basic - like in a developing country almost except that it's in the fab city of London. But that's alright, Indian expats would find this ambiance a stamp of "authenticity" since it's like a lot of places in India. It would be nice to see them level up on interiors a bit to attract a few more UK natives but I guess they're really focusing on the Indian expats since I saw a lot of people eating with their hands (: I'd love to see them using cutlery though :) in there.
Highly recommended for everyone because the...

If you’re a fan of authentic hyderbadi Indian cuisine, here’s my honest review of my recent visit to Hyderabad Tastes in Hounslow.
Ambiance: The ambiance was quite average—not something extraordinary, but decent enough for a casual dinner.
Service: The service was good, though it could’ve been a notch better. The food arrived at the table quickly, which was a definite plus!
Food: Here’s what we ordered: 1️⃣ Chicken Lollipop (Spicy) – This dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and came with 5 perfectly cooked pieces. A great appetizer! 2️⃣ Butter Chicken – Absolutely divine! The rich, creamy texture and perfectly balanced flavors made it the star of the night. 3️⃣ Garlic Naan – Soft, fresh, and packed with flavor. Highly recommended! 4️⃣ Butter Naan – Another solid choice—well-prepared and satisfying. 5️⃣ Hyderabadi Biryani – I opted for double masala, which turned out to be a mistake on my part as the excess garam masala overpowered the dish slightly. However, without the double masala, I’m sure it would’ve been perfect. The biryani itself had a generous portion size with tender mutton pieces.
Portion Sizes: The portion sizes were impressive, especially for the butter chicken and biryani. Definitely worth the price.
Final Thoughts: Overall, Hyderabad Tastes is a great spot for a hearty Indian meal in Hounslow. While there were minor misses, the quality of food, especially the butter chicken and naans, stood out. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian flavors in East London.
🌟 Rating: 4/5 🌟 ✅ Must-Try: Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Chicken Lollipop And ofcourse...

I travelled 16 miles with my friends just to eat at this restaurant because we genuinely enjoy the biryani here. The food was good, and the service was fine — no complaints there. But I was really disappointed with how a simple request was handled.
I asked if the family pack biryani could be packed into two separate containers. I had a genuine reason and even told the staff and manager about it. I was ready to pay extra if needed, but they simply said, "Our owner doesn’t allow us to do that," and refused — no exceptions.
As someone who also works as a manager in the hospitality industry, I was surprised by the lack of flexibility or understanding. Rules are important, but so is the ability to make reasonable decisions based on the situation. Blindly following policies without considering the customer’s needs doesn’t reflect good service.
I came all that way because my family likes the food, but after this experience, I don’t think I’ll be making the trip again. It’s not about the biryani being packed in one or two boxes — it’s about feeling valued as a customer. Sadly, I...
