It's an average/OK hotel. Our check-in took ages. I know that we arrived earlier than allowed but we were happy to wait in the lobby till our room was ready. I would expect from the hotel manager to be more hands on, more professional, more smiley and more friendly. I felt like she just wanted to get rid of us so she can serve whole queue of people waiting for check-in. Our check-in was long, it took around 15 minutes and there was an issue with our breakfast which we paid for in advance. It looks like this hotel wasn't prepared for so many guests during the week (there was a concert at Twickenham stadium and the hotel was mostly booked by people attending this concert). Our room was an executive room and again it was only average/OK. View from our room window was awful, we could see horrible roof covered in paddles and moss and the next door hotel. Room had everything that you needed: bed, bedside tables, desk with mirror, mini wardrobe, fridge, TV, good WiFi, etc. But everything was quite basic and looking quite dated. There were scuffs and marks on the furniture, walls and carpet. Bathroom was also average/OK, towels were good size and fluffy, shower was really good, although I hated squeezable hand wash and squeezable shower gel/shampoo and I would never use provided shower matt. Planes were flying above the hotel every couple of minutes, they stopped after 11pm and started again around 6am. So if you are looking for good and peaceful nigh sleep and are not used to the sound of planes you will be disappointed. Breakfast was a chaos. Hotel wasn't ready for so many guests and breakfast room was very small. We were lucky with finding a table but we had to put dirty plates to the side and ask for clean plates, cups and cutlery. Food wasn't replenished fast enough and people had to wait for it. Food was fine, you could choose from: English breakfast, cereal, fruit, yogurts, bread, cheese, ham, etc. At least check-out was fast. This hotel is OK for 1 night stay but I wouldn't stay here if any of the nearby hotels...
Read moreLumpy bed and dirty floor carpet was just the beginning of my experience at the Ramada Hounslow. I stayed in Hounslow because I was visiting a friend who lives just off lampton Road. Sadly she had no room at her place so I booked at the Ramada. On arrival I was booked in by a lovely lady on reception. She was very very helpful. I was given the key to my room and that's where all the problems kicked off. When I entered the room the first thing that hit me was the smell of cigars. Then I saw the carpet had food crushed into it. It looked like gravy and potatoes. After this I went into the bathroom and found it smelt of damp and you could see black mould on the sealant around the shower etc. I eventually filled the kettle up to make a cuppa, only to find the kettle was broken. By now I was getting nervous because of the rediculous problems. Because it was kind of late I decided to shower. Well that's when I found the shower was broken. The shower kept going very hot and cold. So I just had a wash. As I lay on the lumpy bed some guy knocked at my door asking for Mr Kumar from Manchester. To be honest I don't look like a Mr Kumar so he was sent packing. I decided enough was enough and went to bed. I was disturbed in the night by tapping noises coming from the desk in the room and coat hangers moving about, tapping against each other. Eventually I woke up early got my kit together and went down to reception. There was a guy on duty there. When I told him about the problems with the room. He replied that there has never been a problem in the room I was staying. In other words, he could not care less. I was glad to see the back of the Ramada Hotel from hades. And arranged to stay in a different hotel further up the road. My advice to any potential customer to this place is DON'T STAY HERE. You'll end yp regretting it and coming out believing in...
Read moreWe are still currently staying at the hotel. We are here for a total of 9 nights and on night 5. If you are staying for a night or two, it should be ok. I do not know if I'd stay again for long stay. It is a bit outside central London but very close to the Underground with bus stations and train station close by. There is shopping and restaurants near by. We mostly dined outside the hotel but what we did have there was decent. The beds are ok but could use new mattresses and pillows. The down sides, we had no drawers in the room (may have just been because my booking agent put us in an accessible room in error), the coffee in the room is instant packets(just so people are aware,) shower and adapter issues. In regards to the shower, it was like Russian Roulette with the temperature. Some nights cold, some barely warm, some hot, sometimes a mix. The adapter issue. We asked at check-in and were told no. So we said we'd go find one (for US guests you can find them at Boots pharmacy and there's one close to the hotel.) There was an issue with the first one we bought, £3, that caused some problems. So we let the front desk know and asked AGAIN about adapters if the hotel had them and where to find one. No suggestions and no adapter. We went and bought another one, £6.99, and things were good. Go through the in room information binder to see that the hotel has them for a £5 REFUNDABLE deposit. We spent a total of almost £10 only to find out that they have them. Staff was mostly polite and ok but not that's about it. So far our stay has been ok as the hotel is clean and ok but doubtful we'd stay again on our next...
