Alex's Place — Restaurant in London

I got chance to visit Alex’s Place on Jul 25, 2023. It was late night and I travelled all the way from Germany and Belgium through a coach tour. My family was tired and so I wanted to have good dinner for all of us. By going through reviews I decided to visit Alex’s Place and so walked almost 1 kms with our carryon luggage. When we reached they were out on most of the items. They were planning to close early ( at around 10 PM instead of 11 PM) as they didn’t have too many things to offer. When I explained my situation so that’s when I saw a genuine customer service from them. They opened up the closed dinning area and let us have our food. I also want to have a special mention of their regular customer named Ravi. He just tried to help me calm down. Ravi also talked to the team of Alex and tried to work out possible options for our dinner as we were looking for vegetarian item too. Ravi if you are reading this review then I want to convey big “Thank you “ too you. We enjoyed the “chips “ ( we call it fries 🍟 in Canada) you ordered for us. You will be in my prayers. People like you keep this world alive and fill with positive energy.

Now food at Alex’s is awesome. I would say best chicken kabobs and rice I have ever. Quantity is very good and quality is great. Look at the pictures and you would agree with me on a wonderful plating. ❤️❤️ . Seating arrangements is neat and clean. Service was great. I feel bad writing this review because the owner is a nice person.

Restaurant was quiet but the service was very slow. They gave things in stages.

They gave the salad then after 5 minutes we get the humus then another 5 minutes we get the bread. And then they didn't give the plates for another 10 min. So couldn't even have the bread with salad.

The floors felt sticky and slippery at the same time. It's like old wood with a layer of lacquer that wearing off.

Our table wobbled which was really annoying. Please fix this!

Platter for 4/5 was good. Could do with more rice and some extra bread. The numbers of chops and ribs are 3 so 2 people miss out. This is terrible. It felt they gave a lot of the more cheaper meats like the donner and chicken and less of the chops ribs adana.

Chips were nice and crunchy.

The staff were all friendly and pleasant.

I most likely won't be coming back here.

5 people £96 but would've been better if we got equal numbers of items in...

Visited couple nights ago for iftar and I must say the quality of food was absolutely awful. I would advise to avoid their platters. It was ridiculously overpriced and the meat was scarce. They charged £65 PER PLATTER and each one had TWO chops and TWO ribs! So yeah we paid £130 for 4 chops and 4 ribs, barely any donor provided. Honestly not exaggerating at all, left more hungry than when we went in. I’ve been there on previous occasions and loved it but they have massively dropped their standards and over-inflated their prices. It’s a nice place inside, boujie decor and all that but means nothing if food is poor. The older gentleman’s service was not great either, kept clattering plates on the table and making thundering noises.
