This is perhaps one of the worst Chicken and Chips shop you will come to experience. Not because it's food is bad, don't get me wrong, but the service is absolutely atrocious, and staff the probably some of the rudest I have ever experienced. This is my personal experiences, where do I begin.
They can't handle more then 4/5 customers at a time, never go there during peak times, you will need to wait around 30 minutes before you get your food. The main guy in the front, the guy that speaks Shuddo Bengali, my goodness he has a ego size of Bangladesh, he speaks to customers in all manners, really rude, maybe he was a Chairmen or MP in Bangladesh and he is in exile here, but he thinks he is some big shot talking to customers that way. I have seen him be rude to customers on the phone too, you should listen to some of his remarks, should be a spokesperson on TV not work in a Chicken Shop!
I have seen Just Eat and Uber drivers being treated so bad, they wait over 20 minutes to collect, staff don't even apologize but go on like they doing the delivery guys a favour, if the delivery guys ask how long, Dixy staff either don't answer or answer in a very condescending tone. Really rude. I would hate to be a delivery driver collecting from this place, if the delivery job is not unsatisfying enough, Dixy staff make it worse and would kill any morale.
When it comes to food, it's okay at best, it's not the best in the area nor is it bad, if they had good staff and decent service this place would be good, maybe they have enough customers and making enough money that they don't really care what they do. But eventually people will get fed up and go somewhere else. I for one would not go here again unless I am super desperate, and if I was a delivery driver I would never accept a...
Read moreThe food here is decent, and I would recommend it if you’re looking for a quick bite. However, my experience today left me deeply disappointed. I politely suggested to the two guys that served us that they consider offering drinks from Muslim-owned brands or those not supporting a gen0cide, like Barr Cola and Salaam Cola, as an alternative to those from companies linked to supporting the oppression of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, such as Pepsi.
Unfortunately, the two staff members serving us became visibly offended and defensive. Rather than taking the suggestion on board, they attempted to justify their choices by claiming that other businesses sell the same products, and even mentioned that the local masjid imam (assuming they were referring to the imam of Masjid Bilal & Islamic Centre which is situated opposite the Dixy’s shop) buys and consumes them without any issue. They went so far as to accuse the broader Muslim community of indirectly supporting these products, implying that their actions were somehow justified.
It’s disheartening to see such a lack of awareness and accountability, especially when it comes to a cause so close to home for many. Their dismissive attitude and lack of empathy made me question where their sense of honour lies. Would they react the same if their own families were...
Read more2018-23 update - Customer service is generally neutral facial expression, however, on this occasion service was appalling as I was faced with a shoebill stork expression with almost always constant death stare who wouldn't give a receipt for card payment and to top it he argued over it - spoiled the enjoyment of eating what I paid for. If they're miserly about printing on a short piece of paper for customer, what exactly are they skimping on in your food and it's preparation? This has been the case for over 5 years with a few guys, however, not everyone who man's the desk. Only visited on this occasion after so many years because it was nearest to the bus stop before hopping on to my destination. Hygiene - on a typical day most staff prepare the food with the same hand they take cash without washing their hand before touching food. Food quantity & quality - greasy, bland to ok - not like the taste that used to be over a decade ago. Pricing - With the shrinkonomy, they've increased the price and maintained or shrunk the already smaller portion size of chicken and buns for adult portion (not the kids meal price of which has gone up to standard main/adult price).
