When we entered it was only us and 1 more table which was occupied. Firstly, the food took ages to come until when I had already left the hopes of eating food (25 mins before we received our first order).
Secondly when we were paying one of my friend asked for a NHS discount and the lady serving on the reception didn't understand what we were trying to say , so first she said yes and then went inside telling 1 minute and then the other lady who seemed more of a manager came on the till. When my friend again asked for NHS discount she rudely nodded and said NO. It is not about the tone but the professionalism and question about customer service???? How can you afford to have a rude tone and grumpy face in front of a customer!!!!!
Thirdly , when my partner told the manager that her tone was rude instead of apologising she gave back saying 'when was I rude' and then tried to speak loudly too.
Thumb rule of Customer service , you cannot have a rude tone in front of the customer irrespective of the situation. We were not trying to argue but try to say that 'why the difference in statement about NHS discount' from two different employees working at same workplace.
This raises a lot of question about:
Is communication and knowledge of 'english' language important in Customer service when serving in the UK for the restaurant?
Does the restaurant care about Customer service or is it simply business?
Is transparency about business amongst the employees important for the restaurant (such as Student discount, promo offers, NHS discounts) because not every customer will tolerate hearing 'NO' after saying 'YES'.
The above question decides the overall review of the restaurant , it is on the brand if they want to be called a business or a restaurant in the UK? The future of restaurant depends on it. Hope the management has a knack of sense...
Read moreGood family run business that take one dau at a time and try and serve tasty food to the community.. its more of a takeout place than a dine in place and they serve a lot of dishes that I have not really found in nearby locality. They have called themselves aamchi mumbai but really they have a lot more on their menu than just Mumbai food i.e., a lot of different maharashtrian specialities too - eg hardly seen sol kadhi in menu in any other takeout place.. When we ordered Nagpur style thali and asked them if they can upgrade the roti to rice bhakri, the owner could not accommodate that request but put in an extra bajri roti- just very thoughtful and shows they respect and value their customers too much! Overall we have brought food from here twice and it tastes really really good - just bear in mind to order in advance as they cook everything from scratch upon order and so it takes time to get your delivery! Also generally the food is desi style spicy ( really hot) so please make sure you inform if you need things to be less spicy while placing your order! Overall recommended! I will be tying out other...

I recently visited Amchi Mumbai and I must say, it was an exceptional dining experience! This restaurant truly captures the essence of authentic Indian cuisine, especially with their exquisite lamb and chicken dishes. Every bite is a delightful explosion of flavors, perfectly balanced and seasoned to perfection.
The lamb curry was tender and succulent, with a rich, aromatic sauce that had me savoring every bite. The chicken tikka was another standout, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. The variety on the menu is impressive, and every dish we tried was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authenticity.
The ambiance of Amchi Mumbai is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of.
Overall, Amchi Mumbai has quickly become my favorite spot for Indian cuisine. If you’re a fan of lamb and chicken dishes, you simply must try this place....
