I went this afternoon with some friends ā weāre regular customers of this chain ā but after today, NEVER AGAIN. Prices are far from cheap, and the service was absolutely unacceptable.
I ordered a caramel affogato, carefully selected the ingredients⦠and what do I get? A boiling hot cup that my friend could barely hold in her hand. I open the lid, completely confused, and steam pours out like itās a hot chocolate in the middle of winter. It was 23 degrees in the shade, and instead of ice cream I get a scalding mess.
I go to the counter to report the issue, and what appears to be the manager comes over. She says, arrogantly: āMadam, you selected hot drinks.ā I tell her, no, Iām not crazy enough to come get a hot chocolate from an ice cream shop. And the order was correct! She keeps insisting it was my mistake.
The best part? With condescending attitude, she says: āThis is how Italian gelato is made.ā Seriously? SHE, clearly not Italian, is trying to tell ME, an Italian, how gelato is made? Thatās like me trying to teach a British person how to make Beef Wellington. Ridiculous.
I told her I wasnāt happy and asked for a solution ā her answer? āIf you donāt want it, you need to reorder and pay again.ā No refund, no alternative, just pure arrogance and rudeness.
And even IF I had made a mistake with the order ā which I didnāt ā a little customer care and professionalism wouldnāt hurt. Also, even a chocolate affogato should be served with a thick, creamy sauce ā not a lava-like broth that gives you third-degree burns!
Terrible experience, shockingly rude staff, and zero regard for the customer. I will never set foot in this gelateria again ā and neither will my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMade a purchase of a regular cup and a milkshake on 1st Feb at 2206.
Man was so excited to serve us our cup that he started scooping the gelato after only hearing 3 out of the 4 flavours that we wanted. Upon noticing after 2 scoops that there was not enough room for 2 more, we pointed that out to him, and he replied that we should have told him at the start that we wanted 4 flavours (but we did so...) Since the picture displaying the regular cup had 4 flavours in it, surely he should have waited for 4 flavours, or clarified that we only wanted 3 flavours before starting to scoop? Appreciate the enthusiasm, but he needs to focus on serving each customer with quality rather than trying to rush and clear a high quantity of customers. The shop was not even that crowded (3-4 people behind us) so not sure why he felt the need to rush.
Was also told by the female staff that she could not find a lid for the milkshake after making the milkshake which was inconvenient as I was planning to bring it into the train. If this was told to me beforehand I would have ordered something else, but since it was already made and I did not want to hold up the line by making her search for it, I just took it and went on my way.
Quality of the gelato and milkshake was good though: smooth, rich, and creamy. Blueberry cheesecake gelato was a slight disappointment with far too subtle flavours to compete with the chocolate and stracciatella. Overall just a good quality gelato experience ruined by...
