Awful customer service. I bought three Kievs and cooked them as instructed by butcher. They were inedible. Called the shop and Neil told me to pop in for a refund. Went in and spoke to another butcher, he was so rude when I explained the situation and said he had never had any complaints and insinuated I was making it up! The three other butchers stood there staring at me as well! I was so upset to be made to feel like this. I spend so much money in this shop. Very upset.

Update. Called the shop this morning to speak to Neil about the incident, I was expecting an apology instead he made out that I was lucky to get refund and that I should have bought the product back, how can I bring back cooked inedible Kievs? When I explained the rudeness of his staff member (head butcher) he backed him up and would not apologise for the incident, only when I sounded very upset did he say sorry but only because he had to, it was not genuine. This shop really needs to learn customer service and that the customer is...

Beware if ordering a turkey for Christmas.

I put in an order for an 8 - 8.5 kg turkey for a Thanksgiving dinner as we were having A LOT of guests. I come in to pick up the turkey and find that it's 7.75 kg. When I enquired to the staff, one of the gentlemen behind the counter just gave a shrugged response saying "that's all we've got". Another gentleman explained that it was the biggest turkey their supplier had but offered no apology. If that's the case, why take the order in the first place or at least let me know that it's not guaranteed I'll get the size I want. At least that way, I would've stuck with The Village Butchers in Southfields where the birds are just as good quality and I would have got what I ordered without the "take what you get" attitude this shop appears to have.

The older butcher with a goatee is always rude and moody towards me whenever I have any requests. Wether it’s for cooking instructions, to look at a more suitable cut of meat or simply to dice it. I’ve always been met with exasperation or strange and patronising comments. He doesn’t seem to have the same attitude towards my partner which makes it even more uncomfortable for us to shop there. I don’t understand why/how anyone would feel the need to make a patron feel so unwelcome while contributing towards their business. I’m just trying to buy some meat, you don’t have to unleash your pent-up frustration on me... We now drive a little further to Balham and do our shopping at Chadwicks.
