Awadh Restaurant - I disagree with your response below. The situation was not unforseen. You had my booking 1 month ago which you didn't honour as you received a bigger booking 2 days before my event. Your manager said - if he receives an even bigger booking then he will happily cancel other bookings as well. You don't respect your customers, you made it clear that you will honour your greed and money. Your manager said he is a businessman and he will do this again and I should go somewhere else. Please don't hide your behaviour and lack of respect for customers.
Original review - I’m beyond furious with the appalling treatment we received from this so-called “restaurant.” We had a booking made over a month ago for my father-in-law's 70th birthday celebration—a special occasion meant to honor an elderly man, and this place shamelessly canceled it just FIVE DAYS BEFORE the event! Why? Because they received a larger booking for 60 guests only five days ago, and the unprofessional, arrogant manager who called me actually said “he’s a businessman and needs to prioritize his business over our requirements.”
Apparently, our month-old reservation and our intimate gathering meant nothing to them. He even had the nerve to suggest we move our celebration for my elderly father-in-law and other elderly guests to 9 PM—an unreasonable time for seniors, as if we should just accept being shoved aside for the sake of his precious profit.
This is not how you treat customers, and it’s certainly not how you run a respectable business. It’s crystal clear they care more about chasing last-minute, larger bookings than honoring their commitments and showing basic decency and respect to their loyal patrons.
If you’re thinking of booking here for any important event, especially one involving elderly guests, think twice. If they get a “better” offer, you’ll be tossed aside without hesitation. We’ll never set foot in this place, and I’ll make sure everyone I know hears about this shameful...
Read moreYou know that Gordon Ramsay show when he goes to places that are awful? Well, it was like that. An hour and a quarter wait for the food. No cutlery. Cold plates. Food not hot. Food not particularly good. And staff wanted to fob us off with a free dessert (we didn't have dessert because we were so fed up we just wanted to leave), and still charge us 12% service. Went last night - their first Saturday night. There were four of us. You'd think the owners/management would want to create a nice friendly, favourable impression - particularly since Pinner places rely heavily on word of mouth. Sadly the staff were not friendly and not interested. And there was no sign of an apology. It was never clear who was in charge or who the manager was. We dealt with a few staff in casual attire, but I dont know which was in charge. You might expect someone to come and take charge of the situation and liaise with us. Only one waiter appeared to have any sense of customer service. The others mumbled inaudibly and showed no interest. The whole visit was unsatisfactory, but we'd be understanding, (new place, first week), if the staff had been nicer. There was no apology, no warmth, no acceptance that this had been a bad experience. The eventing ended up with haggling over money - them trying to charge us for a drink we didn't have and even after us refusing to pay service it still showed on the revised bill. How we wish we'd stuck with Zaza - where staff and service are great. This will teach us to try and support new businesses. Appalling. Avoid. Completely lacking in charm - and don't get me started on the lighting like a dentists' surgery. The place that was here before didn't last long - this place won't either if they don't get a grip.
Note - they respond to other reviews - but...
