Aya was nothing short of exceptional. While I typically eat vegetarian and value having good veggie options on the menu (of which there were a few at Aya), I must say I opted for the meat options in my trip and they were simply stunning. I ordered a garlic and spice marinated boneless baby chicken with rice, and I genuinely couldn't believe how juicy and flavourful the chicken was. Even thinking about the dish now is making my mouth water, the marination and seasoning was done to perfection, and pairing the chicken with the sumac onions, some of the fluffy rice and maybe some sauces, all of those components mixed together yielded one of the tastiest bites of chicken you can get. I will also give big bonus points to the hummus and ful medammas, which were beautifully smooth and also seasoned perfectly. Service was also great, we came without a booking and were seen right away, sat down, ordered and received our food not too long after. To sum up Aya in one word, I would say balance. Truly, their flavours in each and every dish we tried were balanced perfectly and there was not a negative anywhere in our meal. Highly highly recommend!

Visited Aya Wimbledon last night, and was unfortunately let down by the service. There was a slight misunderstanding when ordering the mixed grills so we ended up ordering more food to compensate. The front of house gentleman, didn’t seem to be very understanding of this and came across as quite rude and aggressive. The portion size for the Aya mixed grill is probably ideal for 1 person, which was not as we assumed taking the £19.95 price in to consideration. There is also a 10% service charge added on to the bill, which isn’t really made clear beforehand. When asked to be waived as we weren’t happy with the service, the front of house gentleman rudely asked us to not visit again and looked at a waiter next to him and said “remember these people for next time”. We definitely will not be visiting again as the attitude was quite hostile and unwelcoming. The food was actually decent and was served promptly, so it is rather disappointing that the service let our experience down.

Aya Lebanese Lounge – Honest Thoughts Checked out the newly updated Aya Lebanese Lounge recently and honestly, it’s a vibe. The place looks great—modern but still has that cozy, Middle Eastern feel. You can tell they put effort into the makeover. The food? Super solid. The hummus and grilled meats were especially good—flavorful, fresh, and served up nicely. You really get that authentic Lebanese taste without it feeling too heavy. Now, if you’re into shisha, this spot delivers. Smooth pulls, good flavor selection, and they’re quick to swap out coals without you even having to ask. It’s clear they know what they’re doing. Staff were friendly and on point the whole night, which always makes a big difference. All in all, Aya’s definitely worth a visit—whether you’re going for a chill night out, some solid Lebanese food, or just to kick back with some good shisha.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT

FAO The Owner of this restaurant - What a terrible experience I had at your shop on Sunday night, we came to dinner for our son's birthday and had my elderly parents with me. So we sit down and order food, when I looked at the drinks prices, they were very expensive, I am talking about soft drinks. So I went to Tescos across the road and bought two Pepsi bottles, when I brought them, I was told by your very rude employee, apparently he was "in charge" there, with the White shirt, that we cannot bring drinks in and if we drink it, he will charge us £5, so I said sorry but I am paying more than £100 for my food order here, what difference does it make? He again very rudely said, that people spend £500 here, you are only spending £100, I took offence to that and upon insistence from my family put the bottles back in our bags as we understood that it is against your business policy, which we respect. He then came to our table and I said sorry we didnt know but the way he spoke to me was very rude and he kept talking over me, so I said to him dont talk over me and he said who are you?? If you want to cancel your order, no problem, I got up and said to my family we will not eat here, your Chef came and talked to me and said please calm down and I was insisting that I wont eat here, after this insulting behaviour, however, your chef prepared our food and gave us a couple of items on the house, I respected the fact that he came and talked to me. Even though, we did eat as I could not move my elderly parents that quickly, however, I will never put my foot in your restaurant again and will NEVER eat there. Your person "in charge" is very rude and aggressive and needs to understand how to talk to customers, regardless they are spending £500 or £100 or £10, amount of money should not determine the status of a person. But like I said, I WILL NEVER...

PLEASE AVOID GOING THERE.

I am going to leave a very very genuine review. I visited aya for dinner last night with my friend and we went there with our kids around 22:30 and ordered the food, we were served really bad food tasted like it was made a few days ago. And the sauce had gone bad the serving plates were dirty as in had left over oil and food on them (both for me and my friend). Then I was given wrong order but didn’t mind as we and kids were veryy hungry when asked the lady about it she literally answered me “have you seen the time madam? It’s almost 11 pm and i am very tired” i was like just asking you because will there be any difference in price. Then we had the food somehow and I basically just fed the chips to my son because didn’t really trust the quality of food and left 60% on my plate as it was. Then when it came to paying I refused to pay the service charge as i was badly insulted and didn’t want to pay she made a fuss out of it as well and asked me to leave and never show my face there again like she own that place. They don’t accept cards and also doesn’t give you receipts for your payment because as per her because we were not paying the service charge she can’t give receipts to us. Before we went on the till to pay there was another lady complaining about something to her and she was superr rude and aggressive to her as well and then did the same to me when I asked can i have your name to complaint about my experience to your manager she refused and the manager had had the same aggressive and rude reaction when I called him to make a complaint basically all the staff is like that. If you’re tired you should firstly not let the customers in and...

Would not recommend in a heart beat.

Upon entering Aya, myself and my friends felt like we were a nuisance and not welcome. We were sat at the back of the restaurant and I felt that we instantly disappeared. We had to wait for 10mins before anyone acknowledged us and gave us a menu. Manager was openly arguing with staff on the floor. When food was served it was shoved on the table with no explanation of what each thing was and placed abruptly in front of us. Food was Luke warm, hardly any flavour, chicken was dry and meat was tasteless.

Our main issue was the service. No acknowledgement through the whole night, we had to ask multiple times for our bill. Waiting over 20mins and constantly reminding staff. Openly saw manager folding bread with his bare hands into baskets and putting this on people's tables, after wiping his hands on his trousers.

I feel very sorry for the young lady who works in there and hope she gets out soon. I asked her if she could get us an update on the bill and the manager SHOUTED at her and told her to get back to her job!!

When we did get the bill, chips were listed that we didn't even recieve and when asking for this to be removed we got a sarcastic comment of "well you should of told me"....

Then when recieving the final bill we were told "I removed your drinks for you" and it was thrown on the table.

We wanted to remove the service charge but felt if we did it would of caused an argument.

Before we had even left they had added another table on to our line ready for the next customers.

Will NOT...
