I popped here for a quick dinner with a friend before going out for the evening. For my starter, I went for the Shu Mai (Dim Sum), which are steamed dumplings. I opted for 5 (£6.50) of them filled with minced pork. They were moist and tasty and went well with the light dipping sauce. Just a shame they were a bit small for the price as I could have done with a few more based on what I paid. For my main, I decided to have the Pad Sen with pork (£9.40). This is a stir-fry dish with pieces of pork, rice noodles, spring onions, carrots, red peppers, soy sauce, and various other vegetables. It was nice and light, a very easy to eat and delicate dish! It didn't feel oily or heavy at all! All the flavours and ingredients welorked well....but again, just a shame the dish was a bit on the small side. Also, there was some chicken mixed in, even though I ordered pork...hmmm. Overall, a solid 4 stars from me...just the portion size being the only let down in my opinion. So, if you're looking for some quick, clean, and tasty Thai street food, then definitely give this place a go. The service was fine.

Firstly I will say I am half Thai who has lived out in Thailand. I know anywhere in the UK you ain't getting the true authentic food. However I get take out and dine in Wimbledon and Putney Thai restaurants. Which are a delight. First time ordering at this place, as I was walking by and felt great I seen a little Thai Street Food Vendor and I just get water served up lol no substance. I go and speak Thai to which I get an English response lol I don't think anyone was actually from Thailand in "Bangkok Pad Thai." Perhaps Western Asian not orientals or Middle Eastern. Just pop down the street to Kokoro whom seem to actually have Japanese and Korean staff members, which makes it that little more authentic. Maybe I will pop in a second time and try once more to see if there is an improvement. This is just my own expression. Hope every success however for your business. Regards.

I used to visit Bangkok Pad Thai regularly when they were situated in the St Nicholas Centre and a few times more when they relocated to the High Street. Firstly before you could have the option of ordering a large or regular portion. When I visited recently I asked for a large portion of pad thai with two fillings but was told it was just one portion from now on. I got the pork and prawn pad thai, five spring rolls and an ice tea. The pad thai was ok, I did ask for extra chilli but it didn't generate much heat or flavour, I remember before you were given a small tub that you could put it over your food yourself. The portions of pork were small and the portion in general was the old regular size but at a higher price. The ladies in the restaurant are friendly and chatty though but for nearly £20 for the meal I had it was quite high in my opinion.

I wish I had taken pictures. I support my local businesses and give them a best chance so I am sure I will visit your restaurant again. I ordered a Pad Thai dish, with a drink costed about 4.50 including the 50% discount on one of the Mondays in August. You have put a lot of effort into making this place a better business of what it was when they were selling Philippino food. It didn't do well then. But good luck with the future, I am sure you have a plenty of potential. Food: An overly basic meal, lesser in quantity and the chicken wasn't to the level of what I had tried before in Thai restaurant. So the meal wasn't worth about £7.50 in quality, quantity and in service as there were no sauces to add such as soya, chilli or any other. Taste: was peanut butterish, sprouts and if I hadn't asked for some chilly, I can guarantee this dish wouldn't have tasted anything but peanutty. You have one hotspot there and you are getting quite an attention, use it wisely and make a reputation for yourself. Don't just give it away. This August you are getting 50% gov subsidy, use it as a free advertising period. Will try something different next time when I visit you...

Dear Bangkok Pad Thai Sutton, In regards to last my visit at your street food shop, I regret to give you only 2 stars as badly managed customer's request. I will applaud your food quality-this is improving, but I felt disappointed when I was asked from a member of staff to pay £0.20 for a plastic container for my already paid unfinished food to takeaway. I kindly requested to speak with a staff member in charge to ask why I should pay £0.20 for the plastic container, once I already paid the food (eat in) and wanted to takeaway the unfinished one.Obviously not I was expecting an straightforward answer and they were insisting from me to pay for the £0.20. This is an awful experience and you will need to work on this, a greedy way to profit from nonsense is not the right way to deal with your customers. I have been visiting 100's of restaurants and takeaways, and never seen this thing before to charge customers for plastic containers and God knows what else they might charge. A bit of advise- Keep things simple, your customers are the ones make your business runs smoothly on daily basis, be kind , put a smile in your faces and try not to...

I'm sad to have to post a 2-star review. I have been dining with you since you opened in St. Nicholas centre over 5 years ago. Sadly the quality of your food & value for money (based on several recent experiences) is now 2-star at best. Maybe new customers, who didn't experience your quality offering in your first few years in business are happy with what you currently offer. Your portion size is noticeably smaller; I always order a large fried rice. This time, the amount of rice was smaller, the rice was old and hard. To sell a large portion with only 4 prawns is very poor! Based on recent bad reviews, you will certainly lose many of your older customers. If you are the business owner, reading these reviews you must be aware of the decline in your standards. Cutting corners, reducing portion sizes and quality will save you a few pounds in ingredients in the short term, but will not help you maintain a customer base. You have stronger competition, who don't try to skimp on ingredients. Your food is priced high enough to offer better to your customers. I might try you again in a few months, but not on the regular basis as i have in the...
