Very much a 'hipster' bar, based on the decor, drinks and food.

It's typical London alcohol prices and food prices, you won't get change from a fiver for a pint, and a burger and chips will be £7+. Food quality is overall good the few times I've eaten here.

The bar is approximately 5-10 minutes walk from Sutton train station and is located next to the band stand and opposite Wilko's. Ideally located to drop the husband off while you shop and join him later for a cocktail or beer and grab a bite to eat!

There's a good amount of seating on the high street directly outside the front, and a decent amount of seating inside so you'll probably be able to get a seat even if you have to do inside. I'd advise booking a table for larger parties or if you want a seat outside even it's busy and the weather is nice.

Shiner + Sudtone has a limited selection of ales on draught that I believe rotate every few months, and always includes locally brewed beers which is good. There's also a small selection of chilled beers which is much appreciated in the heat.

I like to visit every now and again as it's a bit less claustrophobic then the Spoons and more mature crowd.

The bar also has a good selection of board games for those who want a cosy game and drink with friends away from...

If I was just evaluating the food I'd give this place 4 stars. Went on Sunday for the Sunday roast and the food was very good. Sadly I have to deduct some stars because of the service, which was less than stellar. The pub was practically empty when I was there (around 1pm), yet my partner and I were made to sit by a tiny table by the front door on stools. From what I understand we were asked to sit there because we hadn't made a reservation, but I don't see why it makes a difference when pretty much all the tables were empty the whole time we were there. So, please, don't ask people to sit on stools when they're having lunch if you have empty tables all around. It soon becomes very uncomfortable. Not only this, but we were asked to pay when our drinks were brought out , well before the food arrived to our table. I don't know if this is standard practice in this pub, but I've never seen it done anywhere else. Suffice to say I found it very odd. Also there was a very long wait for our food to come out, of which there was no acknowledgement. A simple "your food is taking a bit long, but will be out soon" wouldn't have gone amiss. Like I said, even though the food was nice, the service was severely lacking. Won't be...

Really disappointed with the food. We went on a Sunday, it wasn't too busy and only a half hour wait until on the food. We got the roasts. They arrived barely warm. The potatoes that was under the meat were very cold. The plates were also cold. We asked if they could be sent back and staff took them away and said they would 'put them under the grill and replate them'. They came back several minutes later on a warm plate but as they had been under the grill only the top layer of the food was warm. Unfortunately the potatoes and veg were under the layer of meat so we're still cold. My partner was starving so ate half of his. I ate some of the top layer and left most of it. When the same person collected our mostly still full of food plates he never asked if the food was ok or if it was warm etc. Yes we could have complained again but we really didn't see the point by this time and have decided we just won't eat here again. You would think for a basic £12 roast dinner it would at least be hot food. Also I ordered 2 cokes and got 2 Pepsi Max handed to me! That's...

Quirky and kitschy decor across a decent sized space. A chilled atmosphere and a solid selection of rotating craft beers both canned and on tap. Keeps each visit interesting as there’s always something new to try. Keep an eye on the pubs Instagram page for the current „secret stash“ of limited edition beers. Pub has a massive selection of board games so a nice place to while away a few hours on a Sunday. Pretty buzzy on a Saturday night. Arrive early for a table. One star off as I felt the Sunday roast beef was a bit of a let down, good flavourful veg but meat was pretty leathery and gravy quite bland. However it’s definitely the top to go to for decent beers in Sutton, with a more independent and friendly feel than the other local pubs.

We booked the function room upstairs yesterday to host a party with families. The food was excellent and we felt like we could really relax in the space with all the kids. The team were very helpful with any questions and setting up the space, in particular Maria was a superstar. Shinner and Sudtone is a firm favourite amongst our circle. The Sunday roses and burgers in particular are delicious and there’s plenty of board games to keep both kids and adults entertained. Nice relaxed vibes, beautiful decor, unpretentious staff.

This place is remarkable!! Went here for a birthday dinner with the family and the food was out of this world! It was high end restaurant quality stuff - much more than you'd expect in a pub. The staff are friendly and attentive and the prices aren't too bad. The decor is just absolutely incredible with the tiles and walls all original from the original Sainsburys. It's like being in a time warp with the amount of extras they've added in - truly incredible. One of the best pubs I've been to! Highly recommended!
