Bar Malden — Restaurant in London

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a local pub and was blown away by the exquisite flavors of their menu. We started with the Filo Wrapped Prawn, and I have to say it was one of the most mouth-watering starters I've had in a while. The prawns were perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy, and the filo pastry was so crisp and flaky. The dish was accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce that complemented the delicate prawn flavour so well.

Moving on to the mains, I opted for the Phad Thai Chicken Prawns while my partner chose the Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both dishes were absolutely phenomenal. The Phad Thai had the perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours, and the prawns and chicken were cooked to perfection. The noodles were tender yet still retained their firmness, and the crushed peanuts added a delightful crunch to the dish.

My partner's Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Chicken was a pleasant surprise, bursting with an incredible combination of sweet and sour notes. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist, and tender, and the stir-fried vegetables added a fresh and healthy element to the dish.

Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the food at this pub. The flavours were exceptional, and the presentation was outstanding. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent value for money. I would highly recommend the Filo Wrapped Prawn, Phad Thai Chicken Prawns, and the Vietnamese Sweet and Sour Chicken to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Well hello once more I thought it only fair that I Re- review this place as it has been taken over by a new Guvnor and the difference is striking!! The lady is a fine replacement there have been various renovations done and it made quite a good impression on me on a week day afternoon. The place is far busier than before it has some different lighting etc and serves a reasonable plate of food at great prices. The whole place has a different vibe and a much better atmosphere!! The staff are kind courteous and knowledgeable the place is on a far better level now. Though I never went up the long stairs to the toilets I have it on good advice that they are completely refurbished. I used the downstairs disabled toilet that was clean and perfectly usable. This new landlady is making a great effort here and is worthy of praise looks soon to grab its place back as the go to Pub in new Malden before long. Music sessions on a Sunday afternoon and I think Friday as well. Good disabled access and a warm clean friendly environment, overall a massive improvement especially for younger people at night time weekends. SHOCKING EXPERIENCE - SHAME I HAD TO GIVE 1 STAR. Was looking forward to a nice evening with family but this place ruined it.

Place was grubby at best.

Went for the "Burger-with-a-slight-film-of-blue-cheese" deal where you also had a pint of bubble-free lager. After a 40 minute wait, food finally arrived minus 2 x drinks. Mentioned to rude member of staff who took pride in talking over me and insisting I had all the drinks in the deal. She had to have the last word and couldn't care less about service, so I went to the bar and asked for the manager. Same non-people friendly member of staff decided they were the most senior on site and barked at some over-worked colleague asking if she had served us our drinks. Poor hard worker said she had forgotten so I was offered the "It's been a long stressful day" line with no apology whatsoever, just a shrug of shoulders.

The onion rings had literally a slither of onion and were disgusting. Chips were poor at best. Atmosphere non-existent.

Tables were grime filled, no chance of you spilling your pint as it would have stuck to the table in no time.
