Outstanding quality of food and service. Perfectly applied golden batter, light and crisp, not greasy and certainly no hint of over-used/burnt oil. Chips was proper - great texture, well fried yet soft inside and not soggy. We had the cod and it was excellent, tender, flaky and moist inside and cooked to perfection, in fact raising the bar so much higher than any fish and chippery we have visited on this side of the country, including the coast, which really speaks volumes. This place proves you certainly do not need to go coastal to get fish and chips of this excellence and freshness. Absolute delight. The mushy peas really elevate the experience as you would normally expect - I presume home-made because taste and texture were spot on for freshness. And no offence to the owners but we really didn't expect something so good and were so humbled when we realised the quality. Presentation of food A++. There is a comfortable seating area with a table in front of the counter. This place is a true gem, and we are lucky to have discovered it. Impeccable clean and modern premises. Welcoming and most pleasant. This place deserves a notch on the top list in the country. "Impressive" is an understatement. This is obviously a glowing review and if it's possible to further highlight any aspect of this place then I would, I'm just lost for words. Food is made with love, and you can tell. My order turned up completely wrong. I ordered a cod and chips and sausage and chips. What I got was a plain box of chips (no cod) and battered sausage and chips. I phoned up to ask them if the orders got switch. the guy on the phone was very rude and said that he had personal made the order and everything was right. He then told me that the driver probably stole my food. When I said so the driver happens to have battered sausage in is pocket and swapped my plain sausage with his, he said yeah probably. I then asked to talk to his manager. He said his manager wasn’t in and hung up on me. I then got a phone call straight back from his buddy saying that he didn’t appreciate my tone, I swore at his friend (I didn’t swear) and that I hung up on him. When I tried to tell him the truth, he then hung up on me. I ordered through Deliveroo and will be making a complaint with them too. I will never be ordering...

Very high quality chippy that hasn't lost its' "chippy" soul. The food is exactly what's expected and hits the spot and if you go into the shop the staff are very friendly and the decor is high quality and very neat. The best fish n chip shop I've found in this area so far.

Edit 11 Jan 23: Oh dear. I haven't been here for a year or so (moved away) but came back for a visit today. Saveloys are the same high quality (for halal sausages) but the chips were a real disappointment. Low quality, too bitty and crunchy and had an "oven chip" taste to them. Maybe I was unlucky and got the bottom of the fryer or something, but I was hungry as hell and my previous high expectations were...
