Racist staff: We are arrived at Bedford tavern at around 21:30 . My partner used the toilet straight away. When she came out to reach me as we were looking for a table to seat , one of the staff , Caroline, approached us advising us to leave . When we asked the reasons why she just stated “ you had enough to drink” . When we asked on what bases she made this comment she replied to partner :” oh it’s the way you walked to the toilet “ . Myself and my partner we spent the afternoon packing out luggage and decided to have a drink before leaving England as we are planned to spend a month abroad . We asked for evidence as we have not been given a proper explanation. We have been client to dame put for few occasions as it’s only few minutes walk from home . We did not approach anyone and when we further asked for reason my partner had been pushed and threatened to leave . We encouraged the staff to call for the police but she didn’t . We had been approached by other patrons , all white , that were questioning what was happening. One patron told us alongside with the staff “ you don’t need a reason you just need to leave when you are told to”. I wonder if this is linked to racial reasons or other discriminatory factors as we are both...
Read moreDo not try and use their bathrooms!!!! After driving 1.5hrs for an appointment at the Sopra Steria Centre next door we all needed a restroom. Quickly popped into the pub to ask if we could use the facilities. They flat out refused, citing no kids allowed and only customers can use facilities. I even offered to pay to use the facility as a paying customer I'd be willing to buy a drink, however they simply refused! My wife and I, accompanied by our 8yr old daughter and 10 yr old son then went to the Sopra Steria centre and their friendly staff kindly let us use their facilities. I understand we weren't paying customers and only in need of the facilities but that's one way to ensure I never frequent this pub, I'll also be sure to never promote your pub. C'mon man have some common...
Read moreLovely place with lovely staff and we used to go there one or twice a week but we had to stop because of how bad the pints are. They really are some of the worst pints I've had in London, not to mind Croydon - completely flat with the head gone within a minute or so. I've lost count of the number of people I've seen walk up and ask for a new pint. The staff never pour a new one as well, which would be the right thing to do, they say it is the glass and just tip it into a fresh one. This gives you a head for a minute and then you're back to the same problem. The place is popular with the after-work crowd because of its location but it wont be long before they get sick of having to ask for a new pint and move on. To the owner, please take a look at the quality of what you are...
