Interesting place with great location to explore from, just across the green from Shepherd's Bush Station, plus close to Westfield and the Empire if that's your destination. Staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful, reception and restaurant seemed clean and tidy, though didn't actually eat there, so can't comment on food, even breakfast. Lot of places to eat nearby, so you won't go hungry. Facilities wise, no gym, saunas or pools, but there is a gym in the W12 shopping centre it's adjacent to, plus parking at decent rates for London if you are driving.
Rooms are on the smaller side, but not too bad by London standards. Little bit of noise from corridor, but windows are well insulated, so traffic not an issue. Should be able to get a decent kip as beds are comfy. No safe, fridge or iron in room, and hairdryer isn't the most powerful, but can request an iron from reception. TV is on the small side and you may have issues if you want to connect a laptop or phone - can't cast, the connections were a bit old and didn't work in my room, but not an issue for most folk. No land-line phone in room, but that's not uncommon these days. Seen worse storage space in London and at least had half a dozen coat hangers, but nowhere dedicated to stash cases. There's a small bench seat and a desk chair, desk is well laid out and there is a fair selection of tea and coffee making kit, but no Biccies. Only 2 plug sockets (UK only, no cunning multi plugs or USB C chargers) neither of which are bed adjacent, so will need long lead if you want to charge in bed!
Bathroom was mixed for my room, small step up pod design which is very common these days, but have had colleagues trip on similar ones in the night while half asleep. Shower had good temp range (which stayed put!) and fair pressure for the floor. Between curtain and well designed tray, no floor floods, which is always pleasant to find! The basin in my room wouldn't plug properly and was very slow to drain, plus had one of the lights out. Not enough to stamp my feet and demand a new room, but a bit of a pain.
Overall not bad considering location and price, but lack of plug sockets (especially next to bed) safe, minifridge and low end TV could be a deal breaker for some. If you're just after a base to explore from,...
Read moreHave recently stayed at the Ibis London Sheppards bush hotel. Upon checking into the hotel It seemed like a pleasant place to stay. After checking into the room 416 the room was tidy but after using the basin we experienced blockages in the sink and toilet. It was in a good location easy enough to find our way around. Where the downfall was though was the staff. when we asked them a simple question they just stared at us like we were from another planet and were absolutely useless when it came to service. To put it this way back where I'm from in Australia the staff at the sheppards bush hotel would be fired on the first day ,they all stood around like stunned mullets like they were lost. During our stay we got our clothes washed by the staff which they send our clothes off to a laundry Mat white Rose Laundry, after receiving our clothes back from the staff they handed us the bill for our washed and dried clothes while reading over the bill I was very shocked to see the amount they charged us for our washing $134 pound to wash and dry our clothes, upon arriving at the hotel we got told no prices for the laundry service and if we had of known it was so expensive we would have washed our clothes and dried them in our room. With the break fast the buffet breakfast was ok the only. drama I had with it is it come out abit late on some days other than that the breakfast was quite a good range to select from. On the final day of our departure is where I was absolutely disgusted with the service at the Ibis Sheppards bush hotel, We were charged twice for our stay at the hotel after checking our travel card we seen that we were charged a total of $584 pound to our travel card which is absolutely disgusting behaviour back where we are from in Australia that's $1050 AUD and we were charged this at 2.00oclock in the morning while we were sleeping and I was not very impressed. To sum up my stay in the Ibis Sheppards bush hotel I would say that the owner needs to fire all the staff and get new ones, Or train their staff to serve customers in a better way. I will also be putting a complaint into the media and the daily Newspapper in London city. Highly do not recommend this hotel to anyone...
Read moreI chose to stay at the Shepherd's Bush Ibis after staying here for an event at Shepherd's Bush O2 a few years ago and loving the experience. This time I had an event at the Eventim Apollo, a 20 minute walk from the hotel, so it was top of the list to stay at for at least the first night. I ended up staying here the whole of the trip (3 nights) due to how easy it was to access the centre of London and due to the surrounding places to visit, such as Westfield and Holland Park.
The staff are as lovely as ever and the rooms are a nice size for a decent price. The rooms seem to block out noise very nicely, because although the roads outside stay busy, it is easy to get a good night's sleep. There is air con in the rooms which is easy to use, plus a good sized shower with nice shampoo and shower gel available to use.
Extra pillows stored in the room were welcomed and used as single pillows can be a bit too flat, but it depends on how you sleep. It is great that you don't have to request these, or a hairdryer, as all are easy to spot on the room's shelves.
The use of a door hangar to tell staff that room cleaning isn't required is a nice touch. It is a better system than what hotels often have, which is to just leave towels on the floor if they need to be cleaned or to use the general 'do not disturb' hangar, if there is one. Ibis also offers bonus points for members per night that use this option, which is a bonus.
On this stay I chose not to have breakfast with Ibis, but I have in the past and it is always very nice. The only reason I did not this time was because I had other plans. But the staff at check in always check the details of the booking with you and will offer breakfast if it hasn't been requested previously.
Overall, it was another fantastic stay at an Ibis hotel and I will continue to use an Ibis wherever I can (especially at Shepherd's Bush, which has been my...
