Thai Spicy @ The Kings Head Bexley — Restaurant in London

Beautiful, authentic, perfectly spiced Thai cuisine. Second visit in a week - last week we are in the bar but the restaurant is far more relaxing. Pearl, the lady who looked after us, is so sweet and accommodating and happy to help. We went hungry this time so tried a lot: pork larb, wonderfully fragrant with fresh Thai herbs, crispy garlic and pepper squid - so crisp, beautifully spiced and moreish. Mains were tamarind duck, perfectly cooked, delicious duck with a fruity umami sauce, chicken pad Thai (classically comforting dish), gloriously iron rich morning glory with crispy pork belly (with sublime crunch), red curry which was creamy and delicate and divinely authentic….. Visited Thai Spicy after a colleague recommended it, the tastiest and most authentic Thai food I’ve had in ages and definitely my new local go to. My friend and I ordered the mixed starter for two (not pictured but so cheap for the amount of food you get!), prawn jungle curry, sticky rice, pineapple red curry roasted duck, egg fried rice and stir fried Kai-Lan on the side.

Everything was delicious, absolute favourite was the pineapple red curry duck which is thick, creamy and moreish. Jungle curry was tasty, slightly thinner sauce than the red curry duck and as spicy as promised, so perfect for our Nigerian palettes - only recommend if you can handle spice! Fabulous food and the lady who served us was lovely. The starters satay and gyoza and duck were good but the main meals especially the curry’s (we had green and yellow) were the stars of the show for me. Papaya salad was fresh and spicy and prawn Phad Thai cooked perfectly. It really was the best Thai food I have had in a long time and would highly recommend. The only negative for me was that I thought I was booking in the restaurant.
