I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bill's Restaurant in Soho, London, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the delicious food to the warm atmosphere, everything about this place exceeded my expectations. However, I must highlight the exceptional service provided by the manager, Paolo, who truly made our visit extraordinary.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, Paolo greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel instantly welcome. He guided us to our table and ensured that we were comfortable. Throughout our meal, Paolo's attentiveness never wavered. He was always present, ready to assist and offer recommendations whenever needed. His knowledge of the menu was impeccable, and he went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary preferences.
The food at Bill's was nothing short of delightful. The menu offered a wide range of options, from breakfast classics to mouthwatering dinner dishes.
Throughout our dining experience, Paolo ensured that everything ran smoothly. He had an eye for detail and promptly attended to any request. The level of professionalism and dedication he displayed was truly exceptional and made us feel like valued patrons.
The ambiance of Bill's was cozy yet stylish, with its rustic decor and dimly lit space. The restaurant was bustling with energy, creating a vibrant atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience. The staff members were courteous and efficient, working seamlessly together to ensure that all guests were well taken care of.

Read moreBill's is always good food - very consistent, and I have never not enjoyed a meal there. My only comment on the food would be that the paper plate liners are not appreciated - they get damp and torn as you cut the food, so you end up having to pick small bits of paper out of the food.
This particular branch is not the best layout. I have been twice, both times pre-booked in the evening. It's very convenient for dinner before the theatre, which could be why it gets busy. But the lobby/entrance is extremely crowded - any more than one party waiting results in the crowd spilling onto the street. Then, if anybody who's booked needs to get to the front, it's not possible.
We arrived 5 minutes before our booked time, and our table wasn't quite ready - we had to wait 5-10 minutes, which wasn't a problem as such, but there is nowhere to stand and wait. We had to constantly shift around between tables to allow people to pass. The large Christmas tree in the entrance takes up the only possible place to wait, and the tables are crammed in quite tightly.
Service was good and fairly quick once we were seated. There was a small problem with our bill, which contained £18 worth of drinks that we had not ordered. From what we overheard, the people on the next table had ordered them but they had been added to our tab by mistake. But when we were able to flag down a server, this was rectified fairly quickly.
The crowded nature of this restaurant also means that it's very noisy. The music playing over the sound system has to compete with a lot of loud talking and shouting, so it's altogether quite a chaotic atmosphere. For this reason, I would probably not return to this branch, because I prefer a calm, quiet and relaxing...
Read moreI honestly don’t even know where to start with how disappointing our visit to Bill’s was. From the very beginning, the service was unbelievably poor. Staff looked uninterested, unprofessional, and completely unbothered about providing even the most basic level of hospitality. We were left waiting far too long for our food, and when it eventually arrived, it was a massive letdown.
The fries were clearly old, overcooked, and tasted as if they’d been sitting around for hours before being dumped on the plate. The steak was even worse — tough, chewy, and completely flavourless. For a restaurant that charges premium prices, the quality of food was appalling. We spent £144 for three adults and a child, and it honestly felt like throwing money down the drain. The experience was nowhere near worth half of that.
What shocked me the most was the complete lack of professionalism from the staff. Towards the end of the shift, they were openly sitting down and eating their own food while customers were still in the restaurant. It showed zero respect for paying customers and made it very clear that they couldn’t care less about service or standards.
Overall, the whole experience was dreadful from start to finish. Late food, terrible service, awful food quality, and staff with no interest in their jobs. I can safely say this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. I will never be returning, and I would strongly advise others to save their money and avoid this place entirely. There are plenty of far better restaurants out there where you will get decent food, good service, and value...
