Often times extremely rude staff, unfortunately.
This shop had a good selection of items and Iāve been shopping at this particular boots for nearly 4 years now. Every now and then I will come across an extremely rude and unprofessional member of staff which has obviously built up enough for me to leave a negative review. There will rarely ever be someone available at the self check out tills and getting a bag or your checkout machine back to normal is a close to impossible. It was particularly busy tonight and there was no staff at the tills for a very long time. I was stood at the machine waiting for a bag (as ALWAYS) and had, no exaggeration, 6 people try to take the machine I was using while I was stood waiting. I was so frustrated with staff never being available at the tills and the fact that I was unintentionally holding the queue that I ended up having to take a bag myself from behind the tills next to my machine. Somehow immediately, a woman shows up and starts telling me off in a very rude tone. I apologized and explained that I had been waiting for a long time and people had been trying to use the till I was stood at. She continued to yell at me about how I should just stand and wait (which I had been doing for literally 5 minutes with no staff member in sight). Mind you I was stood at the very last till and she was on the other end and was, therefore, doing this in front of about 20 clients from across the room..absolutely unprofessional and rude. I honestly have no idea where they find these people but as I mentioned before - this was far from the first time something similar has happened to me. If youāre planning on shopping here I advise that you avoid contact with staff as much as possible. It seems a lot of the staff here have zero manners and absolutely no comprehension of what professionalism looks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely abysmal service. The absolute worst customer service out of of every boots I have been to and I am aiming this directly at the pharmacy team (except for the lovely girl wearing glasses, Aya I think her name was). They refuse to allow me to change an item stating I have left the shop however I was inside the entire time (a mere 2 1/2 minutes). The Asian ladies behind the counter simply shrugged their shoulders without a care in the world sending the lovely health assistant to be the bearer of bad news that they wouldn't dare to say themselves. I don't understand why they cannot communicate this to me themselves and clearly? All it shows is a lack of customer service experience and lack of professionalism which is unheard of as Piccadilly Boots deals with a lot of corporate members.
All in all and I am disappointed but pleased to know that I will never be returning to this particular boots. I wish those women who can't say things to the face of customers resign, they do not deserve to serve the public with the appalling attitudes they carry. A big big shame on boots to have people like that working for them - it really is. I cannot stress enough how terrible they are at their jobs and hope that other customers to not experience the same experience that I have.
Again, never coming back thanks to those Asian ladies behind the pharmacy...

I bought there a pair of glasses. After 6 months it happened that they received a small hit (~60cm fall on the carpet) and surprisingly broke straight away, i.e. one of the rim fractured abruptly (see picture). When I asked for a replacement (and I honestly described what happened) they arrogantly told me that it's normal to expect glasses to break, even in minor accidents like this. They denied me a free replacement. I tried to investigate further via email, but they haven't replied after several weeks. I guess they can legally reject my request of a free replacement, but I think I need to warn other users that their glasses seem to be very delicate and you can end up having a complete loss of the frame in case of very minor incident.
I suspect the frame was under high mechanical stress to keep the lenses in place and a small hit was enough to break it. I wish I had this information when I purchased them.
To clarify, I don't expect glasses to be indestructible, so I can accept having them breaking after let's say a 150cm fall on hard surface (even though all glasses I have had in 25 years have always survived such falls), but not after a 60cm fall on a carpet.
Bonus complaints: lenses had annoying chromatic aberration. They didn't mention that while I was...
