If I could give 10 stars (or more) I would.
My husband comes here with his friends and they RAVE about it. He’s been saying we should try it for ages.
BEST DECISION EVER.
We had booked a table for the two of us for Friday 31st January. We were seated immediately by the friendly waiter.
We had a sharing platter with lamb, pork, steak (I think that was it) our sides were chips & the broccoli & walnut salad.
This also comes with a trio of delicious mouthfuls of joy. Yum.
But can I just take a moment here and praise the genius that came up with this slice of heaven that is the broccoli & walnut salad… it was the most delicious thing I have eaten in a long time and I LOVE food. - I will return to this in a bit but…
Our waiter was bloody lovely. So attentive, nothing too much trouble and you could see he knew exactly what was happening in ever corner of that restaurant. Absolutely outstanding.
I told him how much I loved the salad and he brought us a second bowl. Now, this was at the end of our meal and I was already worried I’d have to be rolled out of the place but as I’m so polite I necked that little beauty. OMG… please never leave here without having this salad. (I’m worrying now that I’ve bigged it up too much but honestly I can’t wait to recreate this).
Thanks to our waiter we have a very good idea as to how to make it (THANK YOU 😘)
If you have never been, definitely go. If you have half the joy we had you’ll come away full and happy. It really started our day out nicely and lifted us for the rest of the day.
I hope the waiter who served us gets to see this review (I’m so sorry we forgot your name. I’m blaming my food coma) Such a superstar. Above and beyond!
We will definitely be back for obvious reasons but also as we went out with friends last night who could not believe we didn’t try the cheesecake. (I would have died if another thing had passed my lips) so we will be trying that on our next visit.
Can I just say, all the staff were fab but sometimes there is just someone special who turns something to magic.
Thank you so much for a lovely time (and the...
Read moreI'll start off by saying - the food was AMAZING. Me and my partner got the All In, the bites and main food came so quickly (the bites even came before drinks that we ordered at the same time!) , it was so gorgeous and cooked perfectly, the chips are to die for!!!
However, the trouble began when we finished the main course. It probably took around 10 minutes for our dishes to be cleared away. Okay fine, it's a Saturday, around 4pm, it happens. We eventually have it cleared away, and wait another 5 or so minutes to be asked if we want a dessert menu, yes okay we'd like to see. Waited another 5-10 minutes to be asked what we wanted, ordered the apple crumble (so good btw!!), and it takes maybe another 15 minutes for it to come out. We finish, and we have it taken away maybe 10 minutes after finishing, wasn't asked if we wanted the bill. We waited 30 MINUTES for the bill!! Couldn't get anyones attention, no one came over, but they were quick to take orders from people who just sat down!! Eventually we grab someone whose cleaning the table next to us (from a man clearly also frustrated at the waiting times and the fact it took 10 minutes and 2 waiters to get a dessert menu... he took the service charge off), we ask for the service charge taken off. They ask why, and we say as we've been waiting so long after finishing the main meal. We get the bill, it's wrong!! It was £138 when we maximum spent £70, no wonder we wanted to take the service charge off!!!!! They sorted the bill out and kindly took off the drinks and dessert so we only paid for the main, but it honestly left a sour taste in our mouths considering the price of the place and how highly rated the it is, it could be a really good experience with better staff. Also, way too...
Read moreThis restaurant is my absolute favorite place to eat in London, and we made sure to book a table three weeks in advance—it was the one place I knew I couldn’t leave the city without revisiting.
As always, the service was exceptional. John, our server, was a delight—attentive, personable, and spot-on with his recommendations, which set the tone for a memorable evening.
For starters, we ordered the cheese and pickle biscuits and the mushrooms on toast, both excellent choices to open the meal. For mains, we had the prime ribeye and a tenderloin fillet steak, accompanied by chips and roasted sweet potatoes. The steaks were flawless—juicy, tender, and cooked exactly to our request. Both cuts were packed with flavor, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and so well-prepared that they hardly needed sauce. Even so, we tried the garlic bone marrow and chopped sauce, both of which complemented the meat beautifully without overshadowing it.
The sides were well-executed, though the sweet potatoes deserve special mention. The chips were classic—crispy on the outside and fluffy inside—but not extraordinary. The roasted sweet potatoes, however, were spectacular: charred on the outside, fork-tender within, and perfectly seasoned, easily one of the best side dishes I’ve had in London.
The true star of the evening was dessert: their famous white chocolate cheesecake. Creamy, rich, and indulgent without being overwhelming, it remains my favorite dessert in London—simple yet brilliant, and the perfect way to end the meal.
For anyone seeking a steak dinner in London, you cant find any better than Blacklock. From service to execution, it delivers consistently, and for me,...
