Blessed West Indian Takeaway — Restaurant in London

If I’m been brutally honest with myself certain dishes and items on menu could be better. Having eaten in many Jamaican restaurants over my short life I certainly have come customer to what’s good Jamaican food and what’s not. Personally look I always advise people try for themselves and will do so here. Don’t read my review as gospel but ultimately the aren’t too many things on menu that is I am personally of this restaurant fallen in love with.

Looking at the positives the owner of the restaurant is very friendly, happy and nice guy. I like the dude, he’s a sound man and someone certainly who can cook. His best dish is Ackee and salt fish, honestly that’s on point and I really enjoy his Ackee and salt fish. Apart from that the isn’t too many other positives about his menu I can say.

Oxtail? It’s alright, curry goat? Again it’s alright but the Ackee and Salt fish is good.

Ordered curry goat from Uber eats and the curry goat had quite obviously been thickened with cornstarch or somethin after it had cooked I am a good cook, and I know when food has been thickened with cornstarch , as a result, the gravy was horrible with no taste no depth of flavour and meat had no flavour no seasoning and had a jelly texture . Might as well made this dish with Bisto gravy granules that’s how it tasted if you don’t know how to thicken up a curry goat and develop the flavour than you shouldn’t be making and selling it to the public Ridiculous dinner that I paid for luckily it was only £6 for a portion No wonder it’s cheap. Got a takeaway on Friday before heading to Whirled Cinema. Was definitely wary because of the low rating but notices that a majority of them are from years ago. My gosh, this was one of the tastiest curry chickens I've ever had. The chicken was falling off the bone and it was very well seasoned with a nice level of spice to it. Would definitely go again; the woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful/patient.
