I went to Casa Mofongo first time when the lockdown restrictions for restaurants was lifted and Casa M. was new in my area.

The 1st meal was fresh and well heated. The 2. and 3. meals weeks later started already to not be fresh. I spoke to the owner about it as 1. food needs to be fresh & safe and 2. it was a treat for me to eat out as I don't have money and one by one lost my family. It was my way of going out for a treat.

From then on I got my food fresh with some exceptions.

The owner was always nice, hectic, but nice. In hindsight he was overly nice.

Then he moved to the new location in Coldharbour Lane in 2023 and I visited frequently. Again, the owner was very nice and was open for suggestions. But I often noticed that they were speaking about me, or laughing or one of the bar staff speaking on the headphones everytime I entered the restaurant and seconds later Angel, the owner appeared.

I was charged 10x or double the amount three times.

The 1. time in the old location my invoice was £22, but Angel accidently punched in £220 into the card machine.

The 2. time it happened shortly after they re-located to Cardharbour Lane I was charged double, instead of £30 was charged £60. And the 3. time in July 2024 instead of £19 was charged £38.

The 1. time I went into minus on my bank account and had to pay a fee. Angel gave me the meal for free, but did not compensate any further.

Also, charging customers more on weekends without saying anywhere on a board or the menu isn't right.

Recently I was drunk and spoke to Angel why they speak behind my back or laugh when I come in. I went to the DJ to make a compliment to Angel for his kindness over the years. I was drunk, and am not proud of my behaviour which I never did before. I have PTSD from traumatic losses in my family.

I challenged Angel to call the police, which he did. I apologise for my drunken behaviour, but you also should know that it is better to calm a situation down instead of calling police.

I am not your “family” as you always said, Angel. You are not my family. You are a business and I was (emphasis “was”) a customer who paid for my meals and left many tips, especially for the chef. I even bought some blue soap recently as you were out of soap for days. How does your chef wash her hands when going to the toilet without soap?!!

I have given you the benefit of the doubt one too many times. Treat your CUSTOMERS with respect, and that starts with charging them properly, not more than advertised, and have your business clean!

I thank you for the meal you gave me for free once. I thank you for being nice, but the over-charging of invoices has to stop. I've learned my lesson to never ever ever take anything for free from a business.

I worked in hospitality all my life, I've NEVER EVER over-charged anyone via credit card machine, nor have been over-charged like this.

You assume that being nice and smiley will cover over how you disrespect your customers with their payments! We are in a cost-of-living crisis, I have no money, many people don't have much. Going to a restaurant is a treat. But when a restaurant owner rips customers off in secret, you should be shut down!

You also have a high staff turn-over, only you main 2-3 staff stay, everyone else left. Why?

Integrity in a business is EVERYTHING! I forgive long waiting times and high prices, but I do NOT forgive dishonesty and unsafe/unfresh food. I ate at your place because I have PTSD and lost my family, it was my way to get out.

You can do with my review what you want, I will never ever enter your business again and will tell anyone I know to avoid your business. Dishonest businesses are not welcome in our community.

And as you know where I live, stay away .... I don't trust you, I don't trust your business nor "integrity".

ANGEL! You called the police BECAUSE I texted you that YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW!! You are a THIEF! You are a LIAR! You STEAL money from your customers! You add money to people's bill without their knowledge.

Get OUT of our community! We don't want...

firstly, I went in, it was a woman by the chicken door, I said hello, she turn over and wolk away without saying anything. I sat down in a table and 15 minutes past until someone came to me. Hello are you okay? would you like to order something he was very welcome and friendly person and apologize because he was late and suppose to be there and hour early. (letter on I found out that he was the owner and the unfriendly person was the chief cook). later on my friend came and we ordered a dish that we have to wait for about 2 hours as the ingredients for that dish hasn't arrived yet. (that was told to us when we did the orders) My friend & I agreed to wait. (that wasn't a problems at all we were more than happy to wait) finally the dishes came, obviously the sea food that we ordered was fresh but the rice that came with it looks like it was from two days ago, the salad was fresh but they didn't have enough dressing per table so we end up eating it with lemon because... I have to admit, the local was full not table left and we felt sorry that asking for vinegar it was too much. for the two waitress and the owner there. Finally, time to paid, per plates 15 pounds each, pluss (2 bear, 1 bottle of water, 1 lemon juice but it was too sweet that my friend left it) the bill was around 20 pounds each pluss the waitress tip which was included in the receipt. both of us paid a total of 60 ponds together. I don't mind to paid even doble than that when in the end of the day we receive a good attention. In my opinion if you are so busy made the customer to book a table, and everybody get the attention and care on their demand and people would not care to paid whethever the bill is. Also the table close to us, were ask by ones of the waitress which result to be the brother of the owner ( I have to said that he missing some customers services maners) that they have to paid and leave because they were waiting for the table. At the end of all of this. Definitely I will came back in the future and check if things has changed as not many Dominican restaurant are present in London. After all I wish you the best and keep working hard in became the best restaurants from our country in every...

Not a massive place, but we'll worth a visit as they make up for it in service, food quality and portion sizes. This was my first visit to Casa Mofongo and despite the fifty mile distance I still think it was worth it. We tied it in with a visit to London and used the underground then a ten minute walk to the resteraunt, but you can get the bus if you want from the station. it has to be said this is a no frils locals type resteraunt, serving Dominican and Spanish food, if I was a local I would probably go once a week, sit outside, drink Presedenti beer and eat chicken all afternoon. As this was a special visit I will give you a rough guide what to expect. The place is not massive and perhaps taking out one table May be a good idea. The seating is rustic but clean. The welcome is bigger than the bar with genuine Latinos taking your order, cooking and serving your food. proper Latin music plays the whole time and how nice it was to hear the happy chatter of the customers. I have a Dominican wife and we eat Dominican food all the time and if she says it's the real deal then it's the real deal. The portion sizes are massive so unlike me it is best to order your childrens meals from the children's menu. everything is cooked to order and all comes out nice and hot but not always at the same time, but hey ho think manyana and have another beer. prices are really good and the food authentic and tasty. We ended up taking a dogybag home there was so much. service is friendly with nice touches like they moved the fan to cool me down because I looked hot. Prices sixty five pounds for one starter four mains and six drinks, one note on the drinks the milk shakes are really filling. Bottom line is I loved the place and I think you will to, just don't expect it to be like other resteraunts it's different and...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the new location of Casa Mofongo Bar Restaurant in Brixton area and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that was adorned with beautiful Caribbean decorations, instantly transporting me to the tropics. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. Our waitresses Marinel and Naomi were especially delightful and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied throughout our entire dining experience. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the food. The menu offered a wide variety of traditional Dominican dishes, and everything we ordered was simply delicious. From the tender and flavorful chicken to the perfectly seasoned rice and beans, every bite was a delight. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we received. The restaurant also had a great selection of drinks, including some amazing Caribbean cocktails like Morir Soñando that were the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Casa Mofongo. The new location is spacious and comfortable, the decoration is stunning, the food is outstanding, and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you're looking for an authentic taste of the Caribbean and a great dining experience, I highly recommend checking this place out.
