The world is now closed to us, we are confined to a limited space in which to explore, to free us from the horror that unfolds daily around us. Our time on earth now appears shorter than it did a month ago, this realisation of our temporal nature can be be disquieting and indeed fighting. Literally a breath of fresh air. In these troubling times a walk in the park can be more than just a stroll to pass time, when things seem so uncertain and of a transient nature, a green space can give strength and a sense of peace. In a world empty of people, nature stands alone, it will out last.

This smallish Edwardian park boasts a distinct fingerprint and leaves a favourable and memorable impression. A spread of sports facilities, a lake, bandstand, communal garden, cafe and toilets. No car park. An impressive variety of shrubs, plants, an impressive variety of mature trees, a memorable horse-chestnut avenue and historical remnants ( including the Mendelssohn commemorative sundial in the labyrinth garden) all cohering to conjure an appealing and relaxed setting.

Great little park in southeast London. It has band stand, tennis courts, basketball court, football pitch and a play park for children. Some of them are a bit run down, but all fine. There is also paddling pool which is great fun for everyone in the summer. The cafe next to it sells ice cream, tea and coffee and snacks. Toilet is also there. Parking restriction is noon- 2pm Monday - Friday, but rest of the time free.

Ruskin Park is somewhere you can go to to enjoy all manner of recreational needs. It is small enough to jog around, several times, if you're fit enough! The paths are clear and open. If you want a family picnic, there are beautiful grassy, sheltered areas by the pond. There are even some picnic tables next to the traditional bandstand. Amenities such as the newly furbished tennis courts, 4 in all, serve for tennis players to have an hours play at any time of the day. There is a great playground area for the kids, with safe surfaces, and a small cafe kiosk next to it. There is a large paddling pool here too. A new outdoor gym has recently opened. The park has sectioned spaces for dog walking and bins for their mess. It has a friendly and safe atmosphere. Often sports groups organise matches here, cricket, on the marked crease, and football on the large level green, which is situated between Finson Road and Ferndene Road. During the summer months, The Friends of Ruskin Park organise concerts at the bandstand, which are free. Other events which take place are school fetes and charity fairs. Kings College hospital is next door. The park also has an historic monument, leftover from the 19th Century, when Sir Henry Bessemer lived here. The beautiful portico entrance is all that remains of his grand estate, but this is what gives Ruskin Park, it's little bit of...

That's a lovely park and even so big not isolated from central road . pretty safe if you get an emergency issue .such as dehydrated or stang by a wasp or panic attack ,you can drop by the emergency as King 's college hospital is a second away. I enjoy the fact you can still have a solo walk through the park enjoying the nature around and visited by squirrels at your feet feels very good ,The pond and the birds are fun to watch usually but yesterday ,the smell was terrible and needed cleaning . The fact there is a separate part for dogs to run around and pedestrians makes it feel even safer , regarding children s fun ,I didn't check yesterday. But they used to fill a little bassin sunny mornings where babies and kids could have real fun ,from 10am ,That was so much fun to watch them too. Lovely trees and flowers ,good for weeding's photos and some toilets at the middle of the park useful , picnic tables and benches ,one of the entrance door leads right to Carnegie Library back on track. So yes pretty pleasant place to pass by , a bit of nature on your way.During weekends. It's pretty busy as the family pub the"Fox on the Hill's is just...

A beautiful park with refurbished bandstand, with The Cat Cafe kiosk with outside seating every day, serveing 'real coffee,' mugs of builders tea, cakes and ice-creams in Summer. It also sells fresh organic produce, grown, harvested and foraged from within the Park. There is a 'family/picnic' area which is cordoned off away from hungry mutts. There is a dog free wildlife educational area with pond and a family of ducks. And before the dog owners get churlish dogs are free in the rest of this medium to large sized space to walk and roam! Dog owners are asked to put dogs on lead if need be to respect other users. This including users of a gritted sports/football area, an open grassy field for all sports, and two fenced tennis courts. What with all that as well as a lottery funded state of the art children's play area, excellent hortuculture practice playing with well kept beds, shrubs and trees, and greenhouse project for volunteers Myattsfield Park stacks up to be one of the best in South London. If not Greater...
