Ruskin Park is somewhere you can go to to enjoy all manner of recreational needs. It is small enough to jog around, several times, if you're fit enough! The paths are clear and open. If you want a family picnic, there are beautiful grassy, sheltered areas by the pond. There are even some picnic tables next to the traditional bandstand. Amenities such as the newly furbished tennis courts, 4 in all, serve for tennis players to have an hours play at any time of the day. There is a great playground area for the kids, with safe surfaces, and a small cafe kiosk next to it. There is a large paddling pool here too. A new outdoor gym has recently opened. The park has sectioned spaces for dog walking and bins for their mess. It has a friendly and safe atmosphere. Often sports groups organise matches here, cricket, on the marked crease, and football on the large level green, which is situated between Finson Road and Ferndene Road. During the summer months, The Friends of Ruskin Park organise concerts at the bandstand, which are free. Other events which take place are school fetes and charity fairs. I enjoy the fact you can still have a solo walk through the park enjoying the nature around and visited by squirrels at your feet feels very good ,The pond and the birds are fun to watch usually but yesterday ,the smell was terrible and needed cleaning . The fact there is a separate part for dogs to run around and pedestrians makes it feel even safer , regarding children s fun ,I didn't check yesterday. But they used to fill a little bassin sunny mornings where babies and kids could have real fun ,from 10am ,That was so much fun to watch them too. Lovely trees and flowers ,good for weeding's photos and some toilets at the middle of the park useful , picnic tables and benches ,one of the entrance door leads right to Carnegie Library back on track. So yes pretty pleasant place to pass by , a bit of nature on your way.During weekends. It's pretty busy as the family pub the"Fox on the Hill's is just...
