I have lived in UK for 20+ years and I have to honestly say that Brazil Café on Battersea Road is by far the most authentic food I’ve eaten outside of Brazil! I had a ‘pastel de palmito ’ ( palm heart parcel ),which is exactly the same taste and consistency of a ‘ pastel de feira’ ( open markets all over Brazil sell them) as I remember eating during my childhood in Brazil. My husband had a chicken Milanese accompanied by rice, black beans, side salad and the famous ‘farofa ‘ (toasted cassava flour ), which is typically spread over your rice and black beans. We had an Antarctica beer and finished off with a deliciously made coffee. The prices are fair and portions generous. The menu has a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. It's a small unassuming cafe, which I wanted to check out for the sake of my husband (Brasilian) + I was craving meat cooked well (which Brasilians do; if you know, you know 🤗). We both had the Prato do Dia which was excellent value and filled our tums so much that I now feel like a barrel! Quality, taste and cost - all well worth it. Service was really good, the host/cashier even seemed aware when my husband said I don't eat pork, that it would be due to religious reasons.
